Hello everyone,
I'm Joran, I'm 22 years old, and from Belgium. I'm new to this forum.
I'm the owner of a 1993 e36 convertible.
I have found an alpina e36 b3 engine to put in my car.
But I want to check if it's a real alpina engine, are there some numbers I can check?
I has the correct valve cover, and a the recommended sparkplug sticker says also alpina.
Hopefully you can help me.
Kind regards

you'd probably need the ECU or a suitable chip to run it properly to get the best from it. Is it a 3.0 or a 3.2 engine?
not sure on engine numbers though.

thanks,
the ecu is supplied with it.
Are there supposed to be alpina stickers on the ecu?
It's a 3.0
Thanks for your response

Whats stamped on the engine block?
Also the cylinder head will have a 4 digit stamping on it at the back of the head

mine (3.0) had the Alpina parts sticker on the outer case of the ecu and I'm sure it had the Alpina part number on the chip inside. However it's a slightly different story with the 3.2's.
