Refund from Landrover

Post by Hodge » Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:20 pm

I shall try and keep the story short as I’m well aware other peoples sagas are quite monotonous.. Anyway we ordered a RR Sport P400 HSE Hybrid (full title) July last year, it arrived just before Christmas and was recovered back to the dealer after leaving us stranded on the A47 on Boxing Day, it was recovered another 4 times until March this year, always same fault “Non Starter 12 v System Inactive” so long story short formally rejected the vehicle in March no quibble at all from JLR and a complete refund in April. Worked very nice when it worked and hybrid system worked very well, if anyone wants any info on that I’m full of it. Being a bit put off by JLR products and no hybrids available of the same calibre ( Cayenne another 8 month wait) went back to BMW and ordered a new X5 M50d. Some interesting points from this was that Land Rover Assist was very good supplied another RR on collection of the broken one each time and always handled the problem professionally, the 4 months of ownership JLR had the car longer than we did, we put 8 k miles on the courtesy RRs. After we had the refund BMW lent us a M850i Fast but huge. Now we have the X5 M50d. If I can give any advice on any of these vehicles feel free to ask. Thanks for reading.
I’ll have a go at pictures bear with.

Sorry to your stories of woe, but at least handled well and brought you back to BMW 8)
Love the X5 colour - what shade is that? Interior looks a lovely shade too. Hope you enjoy the car and it proves reliable!

Not according to the OP. Have you driven a 50d ali? It's not a shabby lump at all.

It sounds like a simple confusion over the cars but you’re both right, mine is the X5 M50d and the courtesy car whilst waiting was an M850i, neither shabby in any departments 🤣 Hope that helps.

Slight derail My Disco 3 ...I have had to replace the OE discs and pads just a few months and very few miles after having done them Now fitting Brmbo discs they are working much better and are cheaper.
