Another nail in the coffin of driving pleasure

Apart from the safety aspects, what do you think insulating the driver from 'disturbances caused by unnecessary feedback' will do to driving enjoyment?

I saw that yesterday and thought the same thing. Another step along the virtualisation of the motor car.

The `masses` don`t really enjoy driving, it`s just a `means to an end`.

For those that do enjoy then removing the current `feel` will reduce their pleasure, although when you consider the state of our roads :!: it may be no bad thing.

Will be interesting to see the knock on effect to the car`s other conventional systems ... run flats replaced by solid tyres :?:

I think they'd be both too heavy and too expensive, but there are already foam-filled tyres available for bikes etc, so it may only be a matter of time before they come to cars

That's why there are so many of these Hyundai Ixx things about these days. Lets be honest though, none of us on here would buy a Nissan for "driving pleasure" would we, it would be a run about for the dirty jobs or getting to work. If BMW started adopting a similar system then maybe that would be cause for concern...
