Re: B5 deposit taken

Some one got a bargain. Priced to sell, despite the mileage. Has it been hanging around dealers or first time offered?

Re: B5 on Collecting Cars

Congratulations Matt. I'm sure once detailed she will be looking pristine once more. As a B5 Touring daily driver for the best part of 4 years I'd say you've acquired one of the most versatile, competent, and capable supercar estates of all time. The one bit of advise I would offer is: PPF the nose ...

Re: B5 on Collecting Cars

I wasn't a million miles out on the price, someone wanted a B5 very badly! Hope it gets cared for, enjoyed & cherished.

Re: B5 on Collecting Cars

this time mind… I drove a car with ACC over the Christmas break and absolutely hated it! Didn't feel in control of the car at all - which wasn't a good feeling, as I am sure you can imagine Not sure what the correct description of the system is, auto cruise and self steering feature? Love it in Mwa...

Re: B5 on Collecting Cars

Flippin' paint work is worse than mine and I've done x2 the miles. Maybe it was "bob a Job week and the scouts washed it.
My guess? Will fetch around 55/60 + fees. Going to be watching this one with interest.

Quoted Power Outputs

With spring slowly approaching it’ll soon be time to get the winter tyres off and hopefully start enjoying some warmer days and tarmac. With a couple of club track days pencilled in for Brunhilda this year I thought it might be interesting to see what sort of power she’s producing. I’ve spent a bit ...

Got my exhibitor ticket a while back using a link you sent via FB. Although it states "Exhibitor" it doesn't say with whom or which group?

Re: ZF8 Fluid Changed

Curiosity finally got the better of me, I had the used gearbox oil analysed. In isolation this result is somewhat meaningless, there’s no baseline (unused oil) and until I pull another sample from the box no comparable. Having looked at the result and gulped slightly, a bottle of ZF8 is on the way. ...

Re: Tyre and Brake advice please

I know diddly about the older B3 Rav but I can second Marc's advice regards Camskill and Kwikfit. Regarding the brakes, if you know or can find the part numbers and also belong to the BMWCCUK there are some serious discounts available at Cotswold via the BMWCC website. Saved me a shed load of £££. 4...

Coolant Refresh

I read somewhere that BMW lifetime coolant – like BMW transmission fluid  – is a” lifetime” product. Conflicting opinions on the web suggest anything from dropping the coolant annually to leaving it 5 years or even longer. Anyone offer an informed opinion on this? The flush and fill procedure f...

Re: B5 G30 interior trim

I think I'd be correct in saying 95% of the B5 interior is stock G30/31, all be it from more up market models or optional add ons. Alpina do have some unique woods, one piece only is embossed with the logo in all cases. Again, some leather colours may be unique but they would be to special order and...

Re: Pirelli P-Zero v Michelin p4s

I'm running my G31 touring on PZ4 Alps alternated with Sottozero 2 over 65k. Never had a problem with the PZ4 wet or dry including the odd track day. They are scarily adhesive yet give plenty of warning before letting go. Obv's in the wet, like any tyre, not as good but still up there with the best ...
