Re: E9x D3 - 2litre why then, but not now?
As above the 2L's were lighter at the front which contributed to good handling. :D That said it was also to make a cheaper car at a time when the market had crashed. Perfect car for a daily commute though. Yes I heard this too, the front set up on the D3 BT is 330D, brakes etc. So take out the heav...

Re: E90 D3 Biturbo, where's my silencer?
Yh the E90 D3 BT is lacking on the sound front, but its always going to struggle to sound good being a dirty diesel. My local garage fixed a water leak for me a while back and they always do a road test to make sure everything is fine. The garage is at the end of my road and I was outside when they ...

Re: E9x D3 - 2litre why then, but not now?
I'd like to speak to someone at Alpina to hear from them what the company view is of the older D3 versions. I've heard a number of people saying "it's only a D3" or "its not a real Alpina though" "Oh yawn not another D3, god there are so many". Personally for me owning a 2009 D3 BT its the perfect c...

Re: E90 D3 Biturbo, where's my silencer?
Mines the same, 2009 D3 BT #114.
The Exhaust is Alpina specific so I guess they didn't see the need for it, no point removing the heat sheild. Doesn't really sound much different though, which is probably a good thing. Diesels with loud exhaust sound a bit weird IMHO.
Mark.

Re: Interior Preferences
Thought this was the new M5 CS for a min then, very similar to that look. I love it, I think the Green is very cool and the interior really pops against it. I love some of the individual paint an interior colours! Silver or black paint is my least favourite and ive owned a lot of silver and black ca...

Re: Steering Wheel Retrim
Afternoon all, And some pictures of everything fitted back to the car. Gear Gaiter fitted.jpg handbrake fitted.jpg Steering wheel fitted.jpg The gear gaiter took a little fettling as the Alcantara is clearly thinker that the std leather originally fitted. Didn't take a lot to be honest just had to c...

Re: Alpina number plate options
I have swapped mine back to the original plates anyway now, but would not have been concerned about the MOT as they only take 5 mins to swap back to the originals when the time came - but does anyone know if there is an insurance issue? I would feel pretty unlucky being pulled over for plates witho...

Re: Finally joined the club with a G21 B3
Look great, did you get from Sytner High Wycombe? If so I'm not far away in Princes Risborough. If you know the area and your passing the train station look out for my E90 D3 biturbo in black, with gold decals. I can't drive it at the moment, but that's a whole different story, nothing wrong with th...

Steering Wheel Retrim
Afternoon all, So few months ago my steering wheel developed a rattle, which was pretty annoying. It was clear the only way to find out what was going on was to get inside the wheel and have a look. Clearly something I'm not going to do, considering I am pretty sure its difficult to replace this whe...

Hi,
Have a look on FB or the Alpina Owners Club 2017, post in there and ask for Bob Whiffin. If anyone can find some history on your car it will be Bob.

Re: Interior Preferences
I think like you said, its horses for courses, mine is my daily driver so darker color definitely works for me. I also have the piano black trim as it's much better looking than the silver trim. I do agree though that a full set of Alpina wood trim would be amazing. If I were to have a second Alpina...

Re: McAlpina
There are 3 Alpinas in my village, which is surprising as it's a small village. There is my D3 BT, a older B3 Cab and a B3s touring. I did hear a couple of lads riding by on their bikes the other day saying "hey look that's an Alpina, we will have to tell Dad". I hope Dad is into cars and has an Alp...
