Re: How low is yours E30 (C2.7/B3)
Mine didn't last long either :? and it was the early C1 style not the full PFL cow catcher. Alpina springs did not seem any different in height to the Koni or Eibach I used after. The FL spoiler seemed a bit more sensible. Got rid of mine (thankfully still have it) and replaced it with a Zender spoi...

Re: 1983 2.8 Saloon- Silverstone Auctions Sat 25th Feb
Hi Bob, no problem, trawing facebook not my favourite waste of time either! It seems to me like there was quite a big 'overlap' between TWR and Sytner around that time. The changeover must not have been as overnight as I thought. I was told the first E30 builds by Sytner were May '84 so thought the ...

Re: 1983 2.8 Saloon- Silverstone Auctions Sat 25th Feb
I’ve posted it here before and it’s been discussed at length in Facebook land https://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=26239 Too much money in my opinion for an E28 in a fancy suit. Without a B9 engine it’s missing the most important part. Being a November '83 car, from what I know...

Re: C1 e30 Bootspoiler repair
The spoiler has begun to rust inside the rubber, fortunately found another new ! Out of interest where did you get the new one, I have seen the identical replicas for the other Alpinas like the E21 and late E30 but havent seen an early E30 one yet. Mine needs some work and might not bother if there...

https://web.archive.org Used this when the E30 Zone was down https://web.archive.org/web/20220121120156/https://forum.bmw5.co.uk/ Tried it for the 5 and something there, maybe it is of use? Be really sad when these forums go replaced by the Faceache generation. Such a depth of information for these ...

Re: Important info Alloy Wherls direct - no longer supplying parts, only wheel parts
When I’ve enquired with FMW the shipping cost/tax made them wholly uncompetitive. When I last checked FMW were still adding local tax (19%) and we were also having to pay UK Vat on arrival. I did ask Frank D.W. why a couple of times and he never replied. If they do not want to register to apply UK ...

Re: C1 recreation yes or no
So bit of an update, I have had a few chats with people over the last few months, including some on here, all been incredibly helpful. But the plot thickens…. I did get to pay the car a brief visit as lockdown eased, and with some helpful direction and information I found a faded orange sticker on t...

Re: Wanted Alpina C2 body kit
Aaah! that will be the cause of the confusion then
The point I was trying to make was I don't think the OP will get a Typ 137 or 147 to fit on a facelift, which is where the 'official' documentation would lead him. I think he needs a 159 or 162.

Re: Wanted Alpina C2 body kit
As its a post 9/87 built facelift car based on a 325i it wont be the original C2 2.5 which was based on a pre 9/85 built 323i. It will be a "C2.5" which were usually badged as a C2 2.5 and is essentially a 325i with an Alpina cam, ECU and exhaust, the same engine spec as the Sytner "Alpina Sport pa...

Re: Wanted Alpina C2 body kit
No further information unfortunately, the person who said he could get information from Synter is proving unreliable. Not had any joy finding the front or rear spoiler either, I am continuing to work on the mechanicals to get it running atleast Something does not look right I'm afraid, you have a f...

Pics would be great if u can post up Cheers May be a while, the car is in lockdown other end of the country, last time it was on the road was before most digital cameras! It is not much to look at at the moment, 4 years into ownership I fell out of love with everything Alpina for one reason or anot...

Re: C1 recreation yes or no
Well I happened to find an article about the early E30 C1s from that time while doing some overdue sorting out of old car magazines I have hoarded over the years. It led me through some other random chances to be able to contact the original owner of this car of mine. Understandably cautious about a...
