Re: Advice Needed - Broken Diff
I have no hesitation in recommending Birds - a year or so ago they fitted a Quaife ATB LSD and new rear shocks to my B3, speedy job, they knew exactly what they were doing, were familiar with Alpina differences, was properly road tested, ... and I considered it value for money.

Re: B3 Biturbo Cabriolet (E93) Wheel Alignment Figures
Thanks for the responses !
I shall now re-address this issue with Sytner, Stevenage who insisted it was the same settings as an E92 335i of the period despite my saying I didn't believe it was.
...my confidence in them is waning fast

B3 Biturbo Cabriolet (E93) Wheel Alignment Figures
Took the car in for alignment and had a long 'discussion' about what figures to use - they insisted it was 335i settings selected via my BMW VIN, but the software said it was E92 from '06 to '13 !!! I also know from the official Alpina E93 pre-LCI (my car) parts list the suspension components are sl...

Odd Roadster ?
I have only been an Alpina owner for 5 years, so my knowledge is inevitably limited, but I think the second advert down is NOT a "real" Alpina. Looking at the detail on Fleabay,; yes, its appears to have an Alpina front bumper, Dynamics and a chrome Alpina badge on the boot ( isn't it usually on the...

Buying parts from Germany
Whilst trying to keep my car in original condition, I see that FMW in Germany show online stock of quite a few original new Alpina parts. https://www.fmw-tuning.de/bmw/3er-e90-e93/e90-e93-alpina-teile/ So, has anyone on here dealt with importing parts from this company ? ... was it a good experience...

Developed a roof rattle :(
My pre-LCI E93 Alpina has developed a 'Metallic' rattle on bumpy roads. Two weeks ago it was as silent as a mouse, but it has got very slightly louder every day since, and is now quite intrusive. This kind of suggests to me that a nut/bolt in the mechanism is coming progressively looser ( is that re...

XB7 at the Ferrari dealers
... was looking at the new and s/h Ferraris (!!!) in Lyndhurst town centre in Hampshire, after lunch today (15th Feb) when a BIG XB7 swept on to the forecourt - I noticed the side stripes first, but then out jumped Jay Kay (Jamiroquai), but I didn't realise it was him at first (I am somewhat old-sch...

Re: Anyone recommend a bodyshop ?
Mike, from your comment, I have found S&J Body Repairs at Shepreth adjacent to the railway line and the Wildlife Park, off the A10 near Foxton and I have visited them yesterday. They are still in business, and the majority of the work I saw is full-body restorations. They are prepared to do the work...

Re: It's official; winter has arrived..
I too have just changed my summer wheels with PS4S's to the winter wheel set that have 245/35R 93W Michelin Alpin PA3's all round. These are not as sure-footed in the dry, but they are great in the wet (no opportunity to try them in snow yet) and quite a surprisingly good all rounder - you have to b...

Re: Real or Fake?
I am certainly no expert, but the centre bonnet badge doesn't look right (maybe reflections/bad picture), and I seriously doubt that the extra logo on the grille itself is valid - looks like a cheap Chinese badge that I have seen on two other fake Alpina's. Also, were black grilles originally availa...

I am located on the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire border ... just north of Stevenage ... but prepared to travel and leave it with them for the right quality job.
