Re: B3 in Tarbet, Scotland

That’s a cracking spot; there’s only a dozen or so in the country currently.

The wheels are a magnet for stone chips; black rims would therefore send my OCD into overdrive.

Re: Finally joined the club with a G21 B3

My F82 has certainly got better with miles having covered 9500 now and managing 350 miles to a tank over a few tanks on a recent trip to the Highlands where on the same trip last year where it had just been run in at 1200 miles was doing 250-300 miles to a tank. I also have a lead foot. As you say,...

Re: Finally joined the club with a G21 B3

Thank you for the kind words John, and to Paul, Marc and BB above. I got worse fuel consumption in my previous car compared to what other owners were reporting. No two commutes are the same and mine is I suspect particularly inefficient. Also whilst I don’t think I’m that lead-footed, my only frame ...

Have you got a link to the thread on PH please?
Thread is here though from memory my contributions are mostly mirrored in this thread.

Re: Finally joined the club with a G21 B3

Thanks for reminding me; I recently updated a readers cars thread on PH and meant to post a modified version of it here then promptly forgot. The TL;DR is that the car is simply phenomenal. I’d love to know how it compares to a modern M-car - you’ll be able to let us know if you do jump in to one - ...

Subbed.

I've scoured the internet and have been unable to find any models of modern Alpinas so I am interested in this too.

Re: G2x - Gloss Centre Console Panel

I believe it’s standard. The galvanic embellishment changes the 5 central HVAC buttons and the window switches in the doors from black to silver plastic.

Re: G30 dynamics?? Hmmm Thoughts

Whilst I agree it would make sense for the Classic to be the default wheel with the Dynamic as the option, it’s worth noting that the Classics on the G2x are forged and 3.5kg lighter per corner. Though I wouldn’t claim that the average punter is going to notice the reduction in unsprung mass in such...

Re: WANTED: F31 D3

Looks like #61 That's the one James Paul sold in Jan-21. It's had at least 3 owners prior to James Paul selling it this year. Sytner sold it May-18 Buyer from Sytner (presumably Owner2) was advertising it as '1 previous owner' from Sep-18 and ultimately sold/px'd it to James Paul in Apr-19. Then it...

Re: B3 no. 200 collected yesterday

I hope you don’t mind the O/T diversion Hawmaws but there’s a small collection of G2x owners/prospective owners (what would an appropriate collective noun be?) who have commented on this very thread who may or may not need a further heads up regarding the steering intervention issue raised by church...

Re: Extending a Vehicles Warranty

From a strictly rational perspective it’s not worth it since the warranty provider sets the prices in such a way that means they will turn a profit, so the odds are that on average you will pay more in premiums than you will get back in warranty work. This ignores the fact that a subset of people ca...

Re: Stone chip on alloy

I agree good advice and it’s what I’ve done, minus the sanding part, mostly because I’m not as handy as some of the folk on here and didn’t want to make it worse. I can live with the cosmetic flaw; as you say Marc there will be more to come. Specifically this particular wheel design is going to be a...

Re: Alpina D3/B3 G20 Kidney Grill vs BMW M3 G20 Kidney Grill

Alpina front end each and every time. However, I have to say as someone who initially thought the new 4-series and M3/4 front end looked gopping, they are growing on me and it genuinely does look better in the metal. I remember the Bangle cars causing outrage before the social media era and now thos...
