Re: G21 D3S vs G21 B3 - A Financial Arguement

Hi all, I just thought I would bump up this thread to see if anyone is willing to share what GMFV they have been quoted after 4 years, on a G21 D3S or B3. I do appreciate this will be affected by the miles covered during the term and the fact that some options may marginally improve the GMFV. I und...

Re: BMW 435D "Alpina"

Started off with the correct base car, genuine looking front splitter, genuine looking wheels, quad pipes, Alpina roundel on the steering wheel and centre caps but BMW badges on boot lid and bonnet.

So it really jars when I see what looks like a “biturbo” badge from an AMG Merc at the back.

Re: Sytner B3 G20 Touring £65k

Blinds are purely functional, dark glass is partly for the look and is not as effective, at least if we’re talking OEM levels of tint, even if it does filter out UV. I made this mistake with the wife’s car - specced dark glass primarily to ensure the kid’s comfort but not blinds, but the kid is both...

Congrats what a beast. I think the colour is lovely, especially given the purple tinge.

Re: Brexit Deal Options - 20" Classics or Alpina Green (+ HUD)

I love my oyster, will the kids be allowed in the car and if so will they be allowed to eat or wear shoes. My 10 year old know the drill,...no shoes no food only water... I approve of this level of training. You are an inspiration! Mine are toddler and baby so anything other than black would lead t...

Re: Autocar G31 D3 S review

G21 B3 is 1940kg vs 2010kg for the D3s Touring. Those are assuming 90% full tank of fuel and 75kg for driver and luggage. I guess the difference between the two is a combination of engine and mild-hybrid system in the latter. The thing that piques my curiosity is what changes are Alpina making that ...

Re: First Alpina Ordered

Congratulations OP. I’m in your neck of the woods with a G21 B3 incoming apparently any day now. That’s three new Alpinas due on this thread in the next few months probably within about 30 mins of each other, interestingly enough. Out of curiosity did you order from HW/Chigwell or direct from Gary ...

Re: Matching tyres and buying a used car in Lockdown

Tyres are a potentially decent way of gauging how well the car may have been looked after by the previous owner. Obviously non-matching rubber on the same axle is a red flag but even if everything matches up, if you’re buying a premium and/or performance car and it’s wearing cheapo boots then I thin...

Re: What did you do in your ALPINA today?

I use the BH wheel cleaner too. In fact my garage is full of BH products; the value for money is hard to beat. I’ve also used Gtechniq C5 wheel armor (though the wheels need to be thoroughly cleaned, decontaminated and, ideally, taken off the car) which seals the wheels, lasts for ages (manufacturer...

Re: B3

Yeah my issue would be the price more than the car itself. Even for £5k off you can configure a nicely optioned B3 to your own tastes and run it in yourself. Granted you’d have to wait many months at the moment if you did that.

Re: B3

This is a lovely car with a great spec. That being said it’s up for £85k and I’d be a bit wary of it at that price if I were the next owner, given that it hasn’t exactly been sympathetically run in. It’s been absolutely ragged in its short life. There’s a video that complements this tweet and Rory R...

Re: New ALPINA handover checklist

Thanks for reminding me about the transportation blocks churchie I’ve seen those stories in a few different places but had forgotten to put it on my checklist. Sytner have got form for “missing” damage on their PDI as my M-Lite was delivered to me with a fist sized dent in the driver’s door. As an a...
