It was my black E30 featured on the show, i told Tim and Fuzz alot on this drama.
That is one huge achievement I’d be very proud of…..something to tell the grandkids.

Well done sir!

Re: Wipers

It’s worth a shout to swap it with those symptoms as many just stop working intermittently, probably worn contacts and carbon build up over the years of operation.

Engine bay, take off the ECU/relay cover lid, it’s the brown relay at the top.

Re: Wheel Centre Cap Key

I decided to save the original keys and popped into the local locksmith, Olympic Locks in Bolton.

They are the most experienced in the area and cut me two of these for £4 each and they work perfectly.

Re: B3 3.3 Gearbox issues - Help

Great that it was a simple fix, but could have caused a fire too. You have been lucky.

t’s a little like changing between winter and summer wheels, I go back to check the bolts with a torque wrench after a week and generally at least one has settled loose again.

The latest badges BMW registered in 2023, again I think will stick with my old badge:

Re: Looking for advice on Alpina B3 Biturbo

The Allrad fronts differ to RWD. Allrad front dampers are the same as the Xi Coupes: 31316779983 31316779984 In the parts catalogues. I had the rears changed last year with Sachs equivalent to the OEM as one was leaking and it did improve the ride. So I’ll be looking at similar for the fronts this y...

Latest Rumours- only B7 and XB7 from BMW?

There are more rumours around I’m reading when BMW take the reins around 2026, they are staying upmarket with Alpina, in current B7 and XB7 territory, and filling the gap between the 7 Series and Rolls Royce. The former Vice President of BMW did state in 2022 that it doesn’t make sense in spending 2...

Re: Coolant Sesnor playing up or something else??

Must be the level sensor as favourite, may be a loose wire/connector. Mine lit up last time because it was actually low level, found out to be the Continental electric water pump housing leaking….again, it did need a top up every month though. The B3 has had 2 replacements at least in its life, but ...

Re: Alpina Insurance

I was with LV (Allianz), at £510, renewal came in at almost £800, they couldn’t beat £750. I went through all options suggested but Hastings eventually came in at around £560 including Roadside Assistance. I tried the searches using ‘Alpina’ as the manufacturer, then B3 as the model etc, instead of ...

Re: D3 F30 20” alloys issues

Generally for Tyre information I’ve found: Www.willtheyfit.com The site includes offset (or as they call it overall “poke”) so you can check if hey will fit in the arch, speedo differences etc. Handy little diagrams too for comparing old and new. The Continental Data Book has quite a bit of useful t...

Re: Pirelli P-Zero v Michelin p4s

It’s almost the opposite for me Charles, last time I looked: PS5 is available in (F) 245/35 19” but not in (R) 265/35 19”. I don’t think PS4 was ever available in 19” with a 35 profile? PS4S is available in both sizes, perhaps as they are the same sizes for the E92 M3? Seems like Michelin have re-as...

Re: ZF8 Fluid Changed

I had the gearbox oil changed at 85k, a little bit late, but the changes on the whole feel smoother, with less of the occasional jolt. Also in Drive (not Sport) it tends to hold in second more when rolling slowly in a queue or if not stationary for long. Not as important, but I asked the same garage...

Re: Hello from a Hopeful Future Owner

Have you considered an E9X B3? You’re drawn towards diesels, I’m guessing for economy? The B3 will give you more grunt, however the E91 Alpina owner is very exclusive club and elusive in both D3 and B3 versions.
