in case anyone else has the same issue ie both lights not working and you have checked the obvious ie the bulbs and fuse, the likely culprit is a broken wire in the pesky boot hinge loom

same repair as previously documented ie inline fix etc.

and whilst youre in there what else are you doing given its unlikely you're replacing just the tensioner?

how many miles has it done on the original one?
