Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54564791407_d56b96b3ef_b.jpg A few weeks ago (just before the trip to Sytner Nottingham to collect the bags) I had covered just shy of 1200 miles. For many years BMW's always had a 1200 mile/2000KM running in service but over the years many models had this droppe...

Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

I have a D3s touring in a very similar spec. I couldn't get Lavolina leather so had to go with full merino leather. Some might not regard that as a major sacrifice... I am hoping this will also be my last new car that I will keep for a long time. I also bought it from Robbie. Sadly he isn't there a...

Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

Fantastic write up Barry! I applaud the level of attention to detail you put into both the design of the car and this thread! It was great to meet you at the Ultimate BMW and see the car in the flesh - I'm still shocked at the interior! The lavalina is just so soft and the extra details like the B ...

Re: Bovensiepen Zagato coupe

Having recently spent 9 months in a M340d touring with that infernal, intolerable touchscreen which eventually increased my Perindopril dose, I am hoping they might do a Bovensiepen reimagined F11 with real dials and knobs and buttons - now that would be a car! I am with you on the the Instrumentat...

Re: Bovensiepen Zagato coupe

Lots of Peugeot comments flying around on social media but is it really a bad thing when the G8x front end is how can I put it, less than satisfactory?

Re: Bovensiepen Zagato coupe

Given the line at the bottom of the C-pillars and across the top of the windscreen, I assume this is based on the 4-series convertible, with a Zagoto hard-top permanently fixed in place. Otherwise that double-bubble roof would be fiendishly costly to implement. Looks lovely, but I'm willing to bet ...

Re: Bovensiepen Zagato coupe

Just came here to post the same link!

Its not based on an 8 series though. It looks like a rebodied G82 M4 which would make more sense as I suspect the 6 cylinder engine is the S58 from the G2x B3/B4 and G8x M3/M4.

Edit: It is a 4 series, interior is the giveaway.

Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54524151633_f75bbdcd9d_b.jpg April 27th was the Ultimate BMW show at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire incidentally where the BMWCC used to have their annual show before the car club went all political and fell apart. But anywhoo, the organisers of...

I have the same rubber mats! But that’s it…those weekender bags are stupendous - such attention to detail everywhere and what a great combination of the green and Oro Tecnico in the last picture out in the sun.
Thanks!

The rubber matts work well.

Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

Being a car I will use a lot and one that I want to keep long term and look after, I was always going to have some form of paint protection film done on the car. Having only had PPF on one car previously, the green M4, I got to experience the advantages of it over the four years I had that car and d...

Simply stunning Barry and even better in the flesh. I love the care and attention to detail you put in and Alpina's willingness to indulge you and perhaps even steal some ideas :) Thanks! Yes it really is nice in person! All Alpinas are undoubtably special, but your B3 GT is on another level. Enjoy...

Re: Alpina B3 GT touring, quite possibly my last new car...

Thanks for the comments guys! The Interior. The interior of a car to me is as important as the exterior if not more so to a degree as it's where you sit, look out and operate the vehicle in question. Obvious things like layout of controls, content of instruments and also their layout and appearance ...

That green M4 with the brown interior was stunning!

Reckon that was “brighter” than Brewster Green? What have you chosen? Or are you going to tease us??!
Thanks! A few people used to say the M4 was in "Alpina colours".
