Nice one ali, a man after my own heart. I've not heard of an M52 in an E30 before - usually it's an M30 that's shoehorned into that space. 8)

Always wanted an E30 M3 but they command too much £££ to justify as a weekend toy. This is by far the next best thing, probavbly as quick and still RHD with the 6 pot rumble

Amazinglt the M52 is only 1kg heavier than the M20 it replaced so still has all the fun you would expect from a 50/50 weight distribution.
The cab has now gone to a new home just outside Brum

Finally parted with the 330i this week.
It has been one of the best cars I have ever owned and were it not for the B3 would still be sat outside my house.
I have been running the 2 eourers side by side for a year and a half as I just wasn't sure I would gel with the Alpina switchtronic box and the 330i was a manual. Eventually the Alpina won me over
As it is the family cart I don't really need to rag the arse out of it and I have the wee red sport to do that with anyway.
Interestingly the B3 3.3 gets exactly the same fuel economy as I did with the 330i. The suspension is way better on the B3. The thicker M sport steering wheel is better than the B3's SE paltry effort
I'll maybe end up putting a few more miles on the B3 with the sad departure of the 330i but onwards and upwards

Get a proper BMW airbox in that E30, that cone filter will be sucking in hot air. Nice Alpina!

oem BMW airbox for M52 or M50 lump won't fit. There's no room.
I have a heat shield around it and a cold air feed too.
All this will change soon anyway as got an ASA infinitas supercharger to go on instead.
Going to take her off the road for a bit and fit inner and outer sills on both sides, do some bodywork and then strap on the blower.

Well I took the Sport off the road last month due to a spot of welding needing done on the o/s outer sill.
I have 2 inner and 2 outer sills to go on which will need painting. So I am going to use that as an exuse to give her a full respray and strap on that ASA supercharger.
This is going to take me a wee while to do so I got myself another toy to play with

It goes against my usual pedigree of car which consists of a rear wheel drive normally aspirated straight six as the Lotus is a front drive 4 pot turbo. Sometimes it good to experience other types of vehicle to make you appreiate what you know and love.
The Lotus is quick but where it really excells is in it's cornering abilities. For a front drive its hard to tell unless you are just about on the limit then there is a tad of understeer but on a dry twisty road it's one hell of a toy
Here it is again beside my Dad's MGB
