WTB: Crankshaft 93.80mm Stroke B3 3.3 / B3S

Post by reggid » Mon Oct 11, 2010 10:53 am

Hi,

I am after a crankshaft from Alpina B3 3.3 or B3S which has 93.80mm stroke to suit M50/52/54 series engines. Does anyone know of one?

Thanks

If you are prepared to pay the price, you should be able to order one from Alpina (via a BMW dealership).

Will not be cheap though. I would imagine it will be a four figure sum.

Then there are the other matching parts (rods, pistons, head, harmonic damper, etc etc) to consider.

i have a quote from them already. Yes it was 4 figures and the first number was not 1 ...lol
Was hoping someone had a second hand one or something.

Hey reggid, are you the guy who messaged my on fanatics?

Alpinas tend to be kept on the road, so it's rare to find an engine lying about from a 3.3/3.4 B3. I think someone on the forum had a whole spare 3.4 engine they bought from a breaker... not sure if they still have it, or what price they would let it go for - wouldn't be cheap though!!

 wow!

Probably worth checking some breakers in Germany. Don't forget, the Z4 alpina roadster S has the same crank.

Does anyone know some of the major breakers in Germany? Not being from that area might help narrow it down for me...
