Regular Informal Get Togethers

Post by Charles » Thu Aug 25, 2005 1:08 pm

At Gaydon we talked about arranging some less formal meets at pubs.

Happy to try to arrange things but what sort of things would you like?

Evenings, weekends, pubs, locations........

Pile in and give me a feel for what you would like to do. If we can get a bit of a calendar together then it makes things easier. For example, 3rd Sunday lunctime every thrid month, say.

Anyway, blank sheet of paper so give me some thoughts

Take care

Charles hi. I was at Gaydon to but did not get round to meeting you all. My B3 Convertible was actually on the Zymol stand dont know if you saw it or not.
Anyway with regards to your informal PUB meets i may be able to give you a few options.I run a pub restaurant for a well known pub chain which is situated on a Buisness/Retail park near to coventry, the point bieng that there is a very large carpark outsibe the pub which with the exeption of my customers is very little used in the evenings and weekends. This may be an ideal place to meet with plenty of space also people would be able to use the pub for drinks and food if they so wish.
Let me know your thoughts
Best regards Charles B

Sounds like a possibility - thank you Charles. And yes, I did admire your car on the stand :D

In terms of geography, we are all spread far and wide and so some locations we choose may not work for some of us. My thinking is to circulate around a number of different locations and Coventry seems like a good possibility - just need to get some other suggestions and put together a schedule.

Let me know your ideas

1st wednesday of each month we already have a pub meet at Mallory Park (the coach house inn) 7.30pm
there's also a new indian resturant above the pub and this month we're all going to partake... there are 4-5 alpina owners within the ranks of the regulars...

i prefer the country pub idea rather than busy retail parks !

It depends where everyone else is coming from.

I spoke to Simon from Leicester (C2.7) a while ago. He invited me to the Mallory Park meets. The B10 is still undergoing some aesthetic changes at the moment, so I'm not excactly enthused about showing her off.

craig

that's the thing about the mallory meet though.. it's as much about the people and the informal nature of it rather than solely about the cars.. this month we're planning on having a curry as the upstairs o fthe pub has been turned into a curry resturant.. anyone interested should be there before 8pm as we're planning on ordering by 8.30pm
