I'm glad someone has raised this as it's given me an excuse to moan 8)

My pleasure

Horrible tale of customer service there though mate
if i order a couple i will probably do it through my local dealer as with the rear badges,
they arrived (one from Germany) in less than a couple of weeks although thinking back, the Badge from Germany turned up before the badges from Nottingham...........

Managed to modify my long reach 13mm to get in to undo the valve and have put an o-ring on which seems to have done the trick, there didn't appear to be any sort of sealing washer on it so i am assuming they aren't supplied with any?
or possibly if it is, then it may have perished away over the years??

I wonder if its a different valve fitted to the 19" wheels as opposed to the earlier 18" Softlines
which could explain yours being different Frenchy.

Ikule,
I compared them this evening and mine looks as though it is not correct, it may well be different on the 19's.
Blacky's car will have 18's, i guess this is what i am looking for,i will be on the phone to the dealer tomorow to see if there are different part numbers for Alpins valves, I strongly suspect there will be !

Part number is

B91.47.3.610.061 - £4.69 ea for the classic wheel, it comes with the metal piece that screws into the wheel and a new rubber seal

I bought 3 extra when I bought a new wheel B91.47.3.611.678 ( a front classic for a e39 B10)

Been meaning to dig out this nubmber for a while hope it helps some

The bottom half has a slotted section for aa screwdriver to assist in tightening it up.
I would definitely need to remove thetyre to fit this valve.
its not 2 holes where the valve is fitter but splits to 2 as it lets air through 2 of the spokes in to the tyre space

i dint have a part number but I'm sure there is a number for them in the parts catalog

The part no. ending in 061 seems consistent. I stated at the outset I needed valves to fit the 19in Classic wheels on the D3 and B3BT but it did take them a day or two to come up with this part no., so it seems likely there are other / earlier wheels with a different concealed valve.

It may be worth someone giving Eamon McNamara at Nottingham parts dept a call with a specific request eg for an 18in Softline to see if the valve part no. is different. His line is 0115 934 1492

I had to get the same valve hanged. Give Sytner parts at Nottingham a call. I spoke to a chap called Peter who was very helpful - they got me the valve in about a week and knew the correct part number. I'm also sure its in the parts catalogue.

My local tyre guy didnt take the tyre off to fit the valve. He unscrewed the exisiting one and screwed the new one in. Simples.

That's what should have happened in this case ie ordered 5th November to arrive 7th November but it never happened. Maybe Eamon forgot to put it down as a VOR order (or whatever Sytner call it, Vehicle off Road). Even so, > 2 months is farcical.

Any chance of you looking out the part no. from that bill, Geoff?

£24.01 for 4 delivered / ordered and paid for 5th November. I was told they would be in stock the following Friday. They were ACTUALLY sent out RM Recorded Signed For (RMRSF) on 10th January and arrived at home on 15th. Unfortunately I was away. RMRSF items are only held at your local sorting office for a week. On 11th Feb I rang Eamon at Notts Parts who informed me the packet had still not been returned to them. On 26th Feb I rang him again. He took the trouble to track the consignment: apparently all the RMRSF returns are sent to Belfast and there is currently a SEVEN WEEK backlog. So, we're now looking at the week beginning 16th March before there is even a chance of the packet getting back to Nottingham. I wonder what the loss rate is.......?
Message left on answering machine today...........the valves are still enjoying their tour of the UK :D and are now back in Nottingham

The saga continues...........

I'm about to fit a set on my refurbished alloys.

The only mention of a tyre valve torque I can find anywhere is on the BMW TIS for an E90/2, it refers to a "Valve in a disc wheel", 3611 1AZ and gives 3.5Nm as the torque setting. But again this must be for the normal valve stem for a standard alloy, not the Alpina valve in the centre.

Does anyone have the torque setting for these, it is critical as you are threading a stainless valve into soft alloy so can very quickly strip the threads if over-tightened and leak if under-tightened?
