Looks good to me apart from the colour match perhaps I need to invest in some glasses? _________________ Jim

| I had the door seals attended to on my car by Sytners at Sunningdale, they did not replace the seals but instead adjusted the door catches to make tthe doors shut a little tighter. It seems to have worked but I will notice it more in the morning when its colder. |

Very interesting. Please update us after a cold morning - shouldn't be too long to wait! I'm still waiting for some time to try the gummi-stuff. I seem to have loads of other jobs allocated to me each time I reach for the bottle. _________________ 2003 B10 3.3 Touring Switchtronic #69 |

That's interesting, because I've always felt my driver's door doesn't 'fit' quite as well as the others.
This is purely based on the fact it doesn't close with the same quiet 'thunk' as the others.
More of a metallic/tinny noise when I close it.
Did you have to ask Sytners to do this???
Just wondering if I should push the dealer to do this before they simply slap some 'goo' on. |

| It was on the suggestion of a Sytners technician not my own idea, but I thought to myself yesterday that the doors sounded better when closing them than before. |

Thanks for that, I'll suggest it when I drop the car off next Tuesday. |

Thought I would post an update to this as I recently finally resolved the creaking door seals. Well I didn't, Birds did. Yes they needed a fair amount of gummy-stuff, but the door stops were also adjusted so the doors don't shut quite so tightly.
Great, no more door seal creaking. However the doors now don't shut quite so flush to the body, although probably only stick out by about 1mm. I'm so hard to please! But I'll definitely take this over the constant creaks. _________________ 2003 B10 3.3 Touring Switchtronic #69 |

I forgot all about this thread.
But in my car's case, what I thought was a creaky driver's door seal turned out to be something inside the door.
The dealer found that out, to their credit.
A similar problem with my Audi went unsolved for three years. |
