Well, I think this thread is finished - admin unsticky if you wish?

I would like to thank everyone who attended and made the day the success it was. :D

Charlie (SRR) was a very happy man indeed, helped by the fact he's into his BMWs - so it was nice, well paid saturday for him!

Until the next one!

@Neil: I just had my B8 on the dyno last weekend. I got very similar numbers:
B8 4.6 - Neil
340 bhp / 360 lb ft
my numbers:

power@wheels:
274 hp

power@crank (with correction for air temperature and pressure, DIN standard):
340 hp @ 5900 rpm

Torque:
473 Nm = 349 lb-ft @ 4100 rpm

dyno: Superflow SF880E
25.4°C, 1002 mbar

Thats good to know - I've not had chance to scan in the dyno graphs - but will do, have you got yours for comparison ?

John, slightly off topic but the issue of the gear lever failing to centre on your car, I guess this refers to a manual box. Sometimes when I want to drop from 5th to 3rd on mine I have to wobble the gear lever before I can achieve it, does this sound similar to your problem? I was thinking this must be a problem with the linkage, can you please post the outcome when yours is fixed.

Many thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Yes that's what mine was like.

The fix takes about 10 minutes, replacing a bush and spring I think. The problem is the gearbox has to come out first...

Fortunately I had only just bought the car so it was fixed under the warranty.

Good luck,
John.
