Essex Alpina/BMW meet maybe??)

Post by DannyB3D3 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 8:05 pm

Hey all, thinking of trying to organise an Essex Alpina/BMW meet if people are up for it?? If we get more than 10 it seems worth it to me especially if we meet at a pub or something??

I was thinking The Half Way House down the A127?

Let me know your thoughts? or if you have any other ideas of a meeting place??

Thanks,

Dan

I think you are being slightly optimistic the A127 corridor between M25 and Southend may not contain too many people. If you are the chap that works for Sytner? Is it he Harold wood branch? if so what can you organise there which might encourage others to attend.

Yeah I did say I’m open to suggestions just said there cos there’s plenty of space and food and drink but like I said we could make a few suggestions and decide between us?

I do work for Sytner yes but the place is always open including Sunday’s but only until 4 and I doubt they will allow us to do anything during opening hours.

Also limited parking at Sytner Harold Wood, albeit I can get a bus there and have a drink, hence no need for parking

When I first read the location of the Halfway House I thought the same, but to be fair it's only less than 4 miles from the M25 junction. Not any different to a Kent meet etc.

To be honest though mate there’s not enough interest to warrant doing it which is a shame!

Don’t give up hope yet mate. If there is a will there is a way and all all that stuff.

However the date needs to be set. Ideally soon and before the end of November at the latest (or in the New Year - March onwards.) IMO.

I will not list them, but I know at least 5 people who own ALPINA cars and often participate in meets in the Surrey/Sussex/Hampshire area. I am not against going anywhere I feel might be worthwhile.

However, we are approaching the time of year where mine is tucked up for the winter. I try and find events that it is worth me attending and hope that a number of other ALPINA owners will too. I think with respect it has to be a little more interesting than arriving at a pub, well for me.

Therefore at this stage and time of year, I am not up for it. I also have a number of commitments before the end of my season.

If you just want a BMW meet then you might considering joining in with the BMW Car Club Gb, it's not for everyone but they do have local events in the SE region. Last week we were at a dealership in Surrey an indy and on the weekend after next they had a visit to Birds .
