E90 B3 owners manual/ tyre pressure reset

Post by Gtstarped » Mon Sep 03, 2018 11:22 am

Hi guys,

Just joined as I have completed the rebuild and reregistration of an 08 b3 from Japan. It was involved in an accident which only touched the front panel, bonnet and airbags, hence it was a waste to not rebuild.

Anyhow all done now however it has the tyre pressure light on which I don't understand how to clear on these computers. Tried the on off button menu but doesn't seem to come up.

Any one have manual or instructions on how to reset?

Cheers Tim

Will be slightly different on yours as older idrive, but my 535d was similar. Try in the idrive 'vehicle status' screen. The tpm should be in there and the reset procedure is usually given. They vary slightly by system: my LCI car requires vehicle at standstill to accept reset, then drive the car normally, but just follow your idrive directions.

No Idrive, and the menu in the stereo/ onboard computer does not have it.

OK, I'm offering this from memory from the car I sold over a year ago:

I think you press the (computer) button on the end of the stalk and it cycles through all options. When you get to tyre pressures, press and hold. It will either show you a tick or if it's already there it will remove it - can't remember which way round it was. I think it then tells you that the pressures will be reset when you drive off.

Hope that's correct.

An E9x B3 with no idrive? Wow: a rarity indeed!

As Hectorsdad advises, use the computer button on the stalk. Probably car running and stationary to initiate from memory.

Doesn't seem to want to bring anything up sorry. Holding the on off did but a limited menu.

I think Ade is correct - you need the engine running but the car stationary. If however that doesn't work, try with the engine off.

There must surely be someone with an E90 series handbook?

Tried all the tricks but nothing. It would be great if you were able to let me know. Cheers
