On my way home driving saw a C2.7 filling up so I pulled in for a chat with the owner who was a lovely chap.
This must be the second or third spot in 12years.

You’re bang on Hap!

Auto with black leather.

He has owned it for 15years, the wheels and body need some TLC but all age related and to be expected.

During the conversation I loosely mentioned keep me in mind he was thinking of selling.
He replied “I would need to join the orderly line behind a few of his friends and it is not for sale”. 🙂

He is aware of the one for sale at 50k but not convinced it will achieve that price unless it is fully restored.

I miss my C2 so much!!

I do often imagine my C2 still here and living side by side with the B3.

After 2 days at Crown court with jury and trial, he was acquitted based on the car being with him for 3 years and his barrister argued that I gave him the car! Of course that was his version.

The jury completely dismissed that I trusted this bloke as a technician and was happy to wait for the car to be worked on. They weren’t even interested or acknowledged that it was a special car instead just another BMW.

Moreover, at the time I owned a handful of cars to demonstrate this was one of my cherished classics to go with the B3 which coincidently was purchased from the accused - what IRONY!

At the time the aforementioned owned a large very well equipped workshop and many performance cars for sale on the sales arm of the business in the barn next to the workshop. A highly impressive set up.
This is were the rappour began and when the C2 needed work after a collision I was comfortable sending the car here for the repairs.

All in all the trial was very overwhelming for me and the car wasn’t special enough for the Jury to accept it was a collectors car. 😞

It was broken up and sold in bits. I only ever knew the whereabouts of the shell which ended up in Ireland.
