2005 Alpina B5 #61 Black
Yes managed to source everything, ordered a new alpina badge and salvaged the B5 one, got some new centre cap badges. Very nearly there now, will post some pictures once it’s ready..hap wrote:Cool all the body finished then did u get the Alpina badges sorted ?
Then it’s find a new owner for her...
I owned that B5 for a couple of years.
I bought it from a member on here, who I had bought a Porsche 996 GT2 from a year or two before. I sold it in August 2009 to a Nissan dealer when it was part-exchanged against a Nissan GTR.
During my ownership it was used as a family car alongside a 545i and the B10 Touring in the photo. It went to the 'ring only once (I mainly took my Ruf or an M3 CSL as they were better suited on the track) and reached 199mph on the way there. It went round in heavy rain with 5 people in it and passed a great deal of much faster cars, since it's all about knowledge there.
I thought it was a great car and miss it. The only thing I found was that it didn't have the adjustable suspension, so whilst it is great for comfort, it got a bit floaty if it was pushed hard on the road.
The previous owner had replaced a Supercharger under warranty and I also had one replaced under warranty (at Vines of Guildford who serviced it), as it blew when my wife was driving the kids to school in it one day. So it's on it's third Supercharger at least!
Enjoy the car, it's a beauty.

It’s amazing what you can find out on these forums. I take it that clears the suprercharger questions up then if it’s on at least it’s 3rd. Are they really that prone to blowing?
The photo you’ve attached is exactly what I’m aiming for in looks, totally standard. Very nearly there with it now

Sure, here it is. It was a 996 GT2 Clubsport converted to R-GT2 by Ruf. It had 630bhp (proper Ruf horses), similar torque and most of the panels replaced in carbon. With no traction or stability control it was wild.hap wrote: Ps guy any pics of the ruf?
The photo here is at Bruntingthorpe runway, next to a friends genuine Ruf CTR aka Yellowbird. Tiff Needell from Fifth Gear was filming that day at the Vmax event.
Ok so I finally have the wheels back from powered coaters and managed to get the car out for a short run around, all I can say is wow, what a machine. Car runs like a dream and still pulls very very strong. Going to get it booked in for a MOT early next week and another quick going over with polisher and wax it, then it should be ready for sale. If anyone on here is interested or know of anyone that maybe, give me a shout. I’d rather the car go to a member and a good home than sell it to joe blogs.
