Meet up in May?

Post by music » Thu Mar 29, 2018 4:13 pm

Is anything happening at the Donington Historic Festival 4th / 6th May?

A number of the historic touring car races will feature BMW / Alpina and car clubs can gain infield parking, free display space, open access and discounted tickets. This could be a good opportunity to make up for the lack of a Sytner meet this year.

I have attended this twice, the area location for car club is though the tunnel and along a gravel and muddy road. The track cannot been seen from where the cars are parked. There is very little footfall and very little interest from the public. It is therefore on the inside of the track and to get to where the food, exhibitors and trade stands are it is necessary to use the foot tunnel.
In poor weather it is extremely exposed with no shelter. Had it no been for the fact the BMW Car Club had a trailer we would have gone home.

It could be roasting hot and fantastic, but I have been bitten there twice and it's not for me.
