1997 B12 5.7 e-kat

Post by R73 MEH » Wed Feb 28, 2018 10:08 pm

I have just bought myself a 1997 B12 5.7. I have never owned one before nor do I have any experience in this sort of thing. I bought this vehicle from a friend of mine.
A bit of background of the vehicle is that it was sat up for a number of years and then repossessed and unfortunately sat up for another number of years in a storage yard.
It’s covered 82k ( not sure if this is miles or km ) and had a lot of owners.
I am wondering if this is worth my while spending lots of money on restoring and keeping or is this something I would be able to sell on quite easily?
The reason I ask this is because I have always wanted a car like this but not really one that needed this much attention and think I may have dived into something that 1. I probably can’t afford to do and 2. Don’t really have the time needed to fully commit to this sort of project and not sure where to go from here with it as I’m getting frustrated that I can’t fully enjoy it right away as I’m an inpatient man.
Any advice or help will be appreciated

What number is it?
I think you may be due a large dose of buyers regret! I’m sure the B12 guys (man) maybe along shortly to give you the full low down on what you have taken on. Brace yourself.

It’s number 111.
Oh excellent, I will look forward to the bad news, if it’s that bad I will garage it and slowly but surely work away at it over the many years to come, it might even out live me.

Have you emptied your inbox of old messages?

Select messages/inbox and check the indicator at the top right hand corner. If showing 100% full then you need to select some messages and delete them - otherwise new PMs will not get into the inbox.

I know a lot about this car, have some paperwork for it (receipts etc, original build sheets etc) and a load of photos from where it was originally stored, engine bay etc....

Long story, but if OP want's to chat I'm more than happy to
