WANTED: E46 B3 S 3.4 Cabrio !!
Dear Fellow Members
Hello!! Being new to the Alpina register, I am considering an E46 B3 S 3.4 Cabrio Alpina and am on the lookout for any decent examples for the right price. I would ideally like a low mileage one, with Nav, Harman K sound, Powerfold mirrors etc, 2004 onwards ideally (facelift) and ideally in an Individual paintwork. Most importantly, FSH and low no. of owners would be a bonus. If you are considering selling yours, then please add to this post or drop me an e-mail or PM me and I will get back to you.
Many thanks
Kam

Alpina for sale
Hi there Hap
Many thanks for that... yes I saw this one and it looks alright so I'll check it out properly. But cheers. I saw a prev. Post where a Techno Violet one sold on eBay back in Sept I think with 44k miles I think sold for just under £10,500. That would have been ideal with the low miles as I plan on keeping it for many years! But I wasn't ready then. You snooze you lose I guess lol
Best
Kam

Looks OK, but will be due the dreaded Head Gasket soon, unless it has already been done.hap wrote:Hi this is a nice spec but needs tidying

Thanks guys for the updates/posts. I saw this one too and as gorgeous as it is, I'd have to sell the Mrs to fund it!!!
I've seen the ones on eBay atm and couple on specialist sites but nothing tickes my fancy as yet.
Cheers B10BRW for the head hasket point. A mate also told me to watch out for sub frame issues if this sounds correct (or was this an issue only on some E46 M3's)? Also are there Vanos issues and something else I can't seem to remember to look out for or again is this just for M3's? I'll post the other thing once I remember.
Cheers

I remembered the things to look out for as seen on the web:
Vanos washers are changed as recommended by Alpina? on B3S's and reconditioning the Torque converter (things to lookout for). (Sorry but is the torque converter different to a turbo?)
Anything else/tips/advice.. would be really appreciated what to look out for
Cheers

Sorry, I didn't see this thread before I posted a similar request in the For Sale section.
I am also looking for the same car on behalf of a friend. Unfortunately, he doesn't want the Estoril Blue currently for sale at KGF.
But does want:
A light coloured interior
A car that doesn't need a lot of work doing
Low mileage with FSH
Willing to pay decent money for the right car and cash waiting!
If anyone has or knows of one for sale please email directly on:
derin@f1drivers.com
Many thanks!

The exact problem is cracking of the Rear Axle Carrier Panel (RACP) more commonly known as the 'boot floor' or 'subframe' cracking.KAM-ALpina wrote:A mate also told me to watch out for sub frame issues if this sounds correct (or was this an issue only on some E46 M3's)?
It can effect any E46 as they all share the same panel.
LOTS of information on the web about it.

Thanks BSS! That's helpful as I'll look into this issue.
Derin, is you friend fussed whether it's the facelift version or pre-facelift? I know a fellow member on this forum who is considering selling one in a darker shade of blue (Mystic I think) with matching hard top. I can send you his details or ask him to contact you (or better still add to this post the details of the car)?

I believe that this only affected early E46 cars up to the facelift in 2002. If this is the case, then the B3S will be OKbss325i wrote:The exact problem is cracking of the Rear Axle Carrier Panel (RACP) more commonly known as the 'boot floor' or 'subframe' cracking.KAM-ALpina wrote:A mate also told me to watch out for sub frame issues if this sounds correct (or was this an issue only on some E46 M3's)?

I would also point out that we have never had a report of this happening to a B3 3.3 or B3S on this forum.
