Hi everyone, following on from my post regarding a space saver for a D3MT I am now wondering about a suitable jack, I have seen various posts that concern trolley jacks, Porsche alloy jacks etc and I am wondering about the standard BMW jack that seems to be freely available.
Could someone confirm if the bog standard BMW jack that is listed commonly on ebay for @ 20 and fits E46, E90's amongst others suitable to be used on a D3MT, and also does the wheel brace often sold with it also fit? many thanks, Rob

I would suspect that a standard BMW jack would be fine. There should be rectangular receptacle at each jacking point under the car that would take a part of the jack. Trolley jacks are also find but ideally you would need an adapter so that the jack doesn't maul the receptacle.

RealOEM lists the following for an E90:

I use a 1 1/4tonne trolley jack for my D3 with the adaptor like the ones seen here............
