Hi peeps, there was a Dakar yellow B10 V8S Touring at auction in Japan last Thursday. Does anyone know who bought it? Beautiful thing. Image

Lovely looking thing. Surely the headrest rhombs aren’t factory original though? I haven’t seen that pattern ever on an Alpina, aren’t they usually just parallel diagonal rhombs?

I think the Rhomb pattern like that is a Japan thing as it's on a number of B10 V8S E39s.

Spent a bit of time cruising around www.ts-export.com and seen a few like that in JP. Oddly, the Japanese V8S models carry a sequential chassis number to other global cars but are numbered differently on the plaque.

I reckon they are made by Nicole in Japan rather than at Buchloe, the background material is cloth not leather and the relief stamp is also different to any other Alpina of the era. Happy to be proved wrong but just my theory.
