I can’t tell you how livid I am about all our names being posted on a public forum – people have nicknames on a forum for a reason

Firstly we needed to send our details to a business email address, therefore is this some clever marketing? And a Ace Café meet is just a front?

I never understood the reason for providing our build numbers because some retro cars don’t have a formal one (but I have mentioned mine so many times on the forum that it didn’t bother me).

Also read my disclaiming at the end of my email address which I sent my details from. It says: “Any disclosure by anyone (without my permission) is prohibited and maybe a criminal offence”!

As you have been using your business email address to obtain our details, one could argue under the Data Protection Act you need to seek our permission before posting our personal details.

I honestly don’t think anyone will or would have any issues with either our first names or usernames being used.

As anyone met this guy and is he sound?

I am sure everyone respects the right of individuals to allow or disallow their details to be published. However, once someone attends any event and people start taking pictures of cars and owners wear name badges it is not to difficult for anyone who wants to complied information to do it, is it?

Remember the Sytner meet, where people had name badges?

I trust that when this event takes place that it has all been done with the best intention, let's see and hope it is acceptable to all attendees.

Yes I do.

That's why my badge didn't have my surname. I found my email which I sent to Neil on 15 April 2017 at 15:20.

Can I ask everyone planning to attend to send me PM or an email to neil@theALPINAregister.com

Your real name
Your Forum name
Your ALPINA(s)

If you have friends / family members coming too - please include their names so that we can get a good estimate on numbers.

This is also so that we can sort out some name badges for the day.
My reply to the above was:

Your real name
Neal

Your Forum name
nealpina

Your ALPINA(s)
B3 3.2 and B10 3.3

I am not questioning that now. However to add to this:
Norrie wrote:I am sure everyone respects the right of individuals to allow or disallow their details to be published

The rights of the Data Protection Act which will become GDPR on 25 May 2018 needs to be respected because a business email was used (I need to check but I am fairly sure that an online community/club is also in this act). The forum acted in the quickest time possible.

Edit: Also I don't want anyone to get into any trouble
