Most annoying :wall2, I will be only 50 miles from the circuit on my way down to Leipzig, Dresden and then the Czech Republic.
Only trouble is, I will be there 2 weeks later :( .

This really is more suitable for German Alpina owners.

Perhaps we ought to persuade Gary Lott to organise a race day for UK owners :D

The total cost is around 1500 to 2000 euro and depends which hotel you are in. Need 2 nights from about 150 or 400 euro.
Basic cost is 1250 euro and 75 euro for codriver plus dinner and hotel accommodation. Hotel is abourt 75 or 195 euro single room and 103 or 239 euro double room.
So for a single person with the cheap hotel option is about 1500 euro for 2 nights and for 2 persons both drivers will be around 1800 euro for 2 nights. That is excluding the petrol. If going from UK, that will be 5 to 6 tanks so about £400 + channel crossing. :)

I am very tempted to be honest. This does not happen every often.
And life too short not to make good use of it.

Now what about insurance for the car?!?
And the name is Marie-Noëlle or nick name MNL, NOT Marie or Noëlle ALONE; unless if you are looking for someone else and not me!!!

My insurance already has 3 months European cover per year.
All I need is the day on the circut
Wonder how much that'll be?

That's the question about insurance. Who do we contact?

After a bit of 'lost form's, I've been confirmed.
Anyone else from the Register going?

To say I'm gutted................

Post by Broch » Fri Jun 10, 2016 12:59 am

Last week my key stopped working in the ignition, but as it's keyless start/stop I decided to have it looked at later.
A couple of days ago, the airbag alarm and seat belt lights came on the dash.
Didn't have time to book it into the local garage before the drive day tomorrow.
So I set off to catch the ferry on Wed from Newcastle. I stopped at the Tyne Tunnel change machine, and on restarting the car, the engine management light came on. I drove to the ferry terminal in the hope it would reset after switching off, which it didn't. What to do?
Do I chance it? The cars were to be checked prior to taking the track.
I also had visions of waiting on the side of the autobahn for a recovery truck, which was my biggest fear.
So with a heavy heart, I turned around and headed home.
The car is booked into JC's Aberdeen for Tuesday to check all the warning lights/alarms.
Hope the people going to the track day tomorrow have good weather and I'll be checking online for any videos I hope will be posted soon.

I am so sorry to hear this Onzie :(
Hope your car is fixed and that you got a refund of your money, unless if they can organise something for you another day!

Car is in JC's Aberdeen awaiting spare parts.
Air bag control unit, Comfort Access door handle, and a few other things.
Estimate so far is around £1800, so will have to see what the Sytner warranty will contribute before I seek further advise
