ALPINA Factory visit 2007 - c. 11th July - 15th July
Just returned home after a 3 week trip which included the Factory visit,
Christina and I would like to add our thanks for the organisation and a special thanks to Kris and Alpina for their superb hospitality.
Nice to meet other members of the Register and to put faces to names.
I had a warning light come on, so instead of going to a BMW dealer I popped in to Alpina's a day before the visit, Axel Rimpler looked at my B10 straight away, sorted the problem and reset the light.
What other factory would offer that kind of service, Alpina really are very special.
My B10 ran faultlessly for over 3500 miles, averaging 24 MPG, this included a run of 424 miles after leaving Buchloe which I covered in 4 hours . Try that in England.

Hello all
Just got back from our european tour this afternoon. Massive thanks to Neil and Andy for organising the factory tour, and to Kris for his time, hospitality and effort. It was a most memorable day out.
Brian, I only covered 2935 miles in my 3 week jaunt, but averaging 50.5 mph and 31.7 mpg (and as you say, just try that in the UK!!)
Thanks by the way for your e-mail about that portugese barn find. Amazing!
Max speed for the German part of the trip was just over 150 mph and still pulling, but then I got tailgated by an Audi S6 (I think it was: I wasn't studying it in the mirror) so decided to pull over rather than speed up: I was going plenty fast enough and the autobahn was not completely empty. Neil, I am lost for words about your cohones at 180+! Yes that 100 octane V power is good stuff.
Final statistic: the car used 1 litre of oil.
Isn't Bavaria wonderful!?
Regards
Simon
