with the help of another multiple BMW owning friend:

> new accelerator pedal, cable, grommet, cable crank bushings, pre-load spring, retaining clip

i.e. we changed everything that can wear or fatigue or get rusty and make friction...it's so nice now its all replaced, was a bit of a workout to push before!!

while the bonnet was open we also did:
> new cruise control cable
> new bonnet safety catch release lever
1998 e39 Alpina B10 v8 saloon (toy)
2001 e39 530d sport touring (daily)
1987 e30 325i touring (epic rust killed it, but all the oily bits live on in others)

Went to BMW (German Night) at the Ace Cafe last night, Met a few other Alpina owners including a rare e30 B6 3.5 ....Nice. e36 B3 3.2 Switchtronic, and an E60 B5.

Oil service today £251 at the local BMW Specialsit.... correct oil filter fitted!

Bad news, 2 rear tyes down to cord on very very inner edge ????? £406 for Yokohamas, better wet grip than the Michelins apparently and £50 cheaper a side... probably a mute point if the throttle is buried though.

Will not be replaced, already have a daily, a sports and with the Mk1 GTI nearing completion  now was a good time to part.

Interest was unexpected and with it being in storage the timing was right.

Understandable, good luck with the Mk1 and maybe you'll be back to scratch the Alpina itch again. All the best.

Taxed the B10 last weekend. If it was not for the ALPINA meet later this month, I think the car will still be SORN

However driven the car today for the first time since 31 December 2016. Forgot how nice the car is to drive

Also replaced brake bulbs with Philips Vision Plus ones, as one bulb was faulty.

Fitted new bright chrome grilles today after the result of the poll I held.it was overwhelmingly in favour of OEM. Took the old Beast for a run out and enjoyed the Bank holiday sunshine to celebrate.

Good choice with the chrome grilles. Your car looks most excellent.
As to Chateau Impney, they hold a hillclimb there in July - well worth a visit for that event if you love cars. I've been for the last two years (the event was resurrected in 2015 after many years off the calendar). There is some fabulous machinery there and you can chat to the owners/drivers in the paddock.

I have been on holiday both times the hill climb has been on so far so always managed to miss it but I have friends who have been and also recommended it. I keep meaning to go to a Shelsley Walsh breakfast meeting but they have also proved tricky to get time off from family duties for.
