Thinking of selling b3 touring 107 and its twin convertible
Much loved and only a potential sale to a real enthusiast. Only selling as my new job currently means I use it too much. Excellent all round condition, full history recent Mot and service. Black/cream. I have owned the car around 14 months and done 4000 miles. Currently 90k. 51 plate
I love this car and will not sell unless I think the new owner will treasure it.
I also own a b3 convertible, steel grey, with grey interior and blue hood. 112k on an 02 plate. May sell both if someone wanted a nice pair. The convertible is not as immaculate as the touring but still a great car in good condition having done nearly 5000 miles in the last year. Both are garaged but not garage queens.
Please call send me a private message if you want more information and photos. I am only interested in genuine offers as I am a wheelchair user and don't want to be messed about. Very happy to keep both! I am only advertising on this forum to potentially find a genuine enthusiast.

Hi my question would be what do u replace it with ? If u enjoy it why not keep it and budget for future work as our Charles has with his touring
I can see you don't want to add miles and stone chips but I find driving my b3 it's such a special place to be in so if your driving that bit further why not do it in comfort u are accustomed to and style. Not many tourings and the e46 regarded as last full hand built model
Sell the cab as that was a summer car
Just a few thoughts which you probably have considered
Good luck whichever way you go

You are the seller and we are the potential buyers. Therefore an indication of price and a few pictures would get the ball rolling if you are serious about selling. Clearly you are not
If you choose to leave your listing as is, then you will probably be bombarded with requests for photos and prices. But then maybe that is your way of gauging "interest"
Also may I suggest that you remove your phone number from the open forum

Thanks
Thanks for the responses. I have also had a good response on my phone. As you've picked up I am not over keen to sell them but I would sell the pair for 14 or split. Perhaps the touring is worth 9k but it is more important to me that people look after and enjoy the cars.
I am not in a position to upload photos on here at the moment sorry but can share on email or Whatsapp ideally.
Replace these cars with?? Something like a 2008 b3s coupe as the convertible is no good for the wheelchair. I was lucky enough to own a 2010 M3 coupe for a while so think a B3 could work well. Trouble is I like what I have so will see if I get genuine interest and go from there.

The problem with placing your phone number in open forum is that you could attract just the kind of person you are not looking for. None members, lurkers, traders and such. Supplying it through PM would be safer for you and provide the type of potential new owners that you are looking for.
Anyway. Good luck in your quest

Thanks for posting. Certainly is and very pleased and proud to say it still looks as lovely. Also I can confirm the convertible is build 274.

I can confirm this is the other one of the beautiful pair. Owned it for just over a year, complete trouble free motoring, only a new battery, brake calliper and discs to report and the odd sticking CD changer. Recent MOT and service with no advisories. A very smart example which could easily be made as immaculate as touring 107. I don't have FSH but a good chunk of it and both cars had a good check over by James at Redish Motorsport in Bristol. Thanks for the comments and interest.
I don't think it is possible to drive an ALPINA "too much"
4000 miles in 14 months is barely using it in my book - try 20k miles a year and a current total of 266k miles...
Being serious for a moment, the E46 facelift estate is probably as close to perfect as BMW were going to get that particular car. Add the ALPINA magic and an estate to boot (excuse the pun) and I believe that it is very difficult to find an alternative should you sell it.
Be rid of the soft top and bank the proceeds to keep the Touring going for many more miles of fun. These cars have pretty much stopped losing money, meaning that running costs will work out cheaper than the depreciation on a newer model - even if faced with the occasional ALPINA-specific service cost.
At least that's how I've explained it to my wife

Thanks for your wise words Charles. I don't disagree with any of your thoughts really and may well keep what I am very fortunate to own. Not sure about selling the convertible though to keep the touring going. Convertible mainly used and loved by the wife. Chosen for its colour of course!
Anyone aware of any of the other E46 b3 cabs being steel grey with a blue hood? Certainly seems to be a rare combination but works for us.

I'm going to have to second the views that others have shared. I've also a (non-facelifted) B3 3.3 Touring, and have also been thinking I need to replace it. Mainly for practical issues as its not ideal for rear-facing child seats, but now I've been looking at what to replace it with, and with a lack of B5 Tourings I'm more inclined to keep it. Driving home today, I couldn't think of another car, that was effectively financial neutral, drove like it does and gives that sort of relaxed satisfaction. I've been looking at RS's, AMG's etc etc, but the E46 B3 just feels so right.

Hi all, after a lot of careful thought and a great degree of sadness I have sold B3 touring 107. Ultimately with my disability and job change I did not feel I could keep it in the condition it deserves.
It's a terrific car and I believe it has gone to a dealer called Maundrell in
Oxfordshire. Hopefully they will prepare it beautifully for sale and it will find a great home. I expect it will be on their website soon.
We still have the convertible and whist very happy to keep it for now would take £6k to an enthusiast.
I have purchased a 2012 Mercedes Vito Dualiner with an automated wheelchair lift to get my electric wheelchair in and be fully independent.
I will have another Alpina one day. A b3 bi turbo coupe would be great if anyone hears of a cherished one (ideally without the classic wheels, I love them but everyone struggles to use the centre caps when the tyres need inflating.) My maximum budget is probably £25k.
Thanks again for the input.
