Thanks folks but huge thanks must go to Simon who did the work whilst I stood around and proved completely useless.

I saw your face at Gaydon Charles, when looking at the stripes on our car. Green with envy. Or was that just the reflection from your car

She looks very nice. Another great job well done by Simon.

Did you have the back and front done as well?

No envy - this has been on the cards for a while but other work has always got in the way.

Just the sides, Terry, as stripes across the back wouldn't line up and the front spoiler needs a respray/clear wrap before being striped.

However, I do like the gold lettering on its own on the front as it really stands out against the dark green - so it may remain without stripes for a while to come.

Luxury! Ours rode a bike. I remember letting his tyres down one day, after he sent me and a friend to the headmaster, after he caught us playing with some magnesium and a Bunsen burner

Ahhh, magnesium. The stuff of schoolkid dreams. Bet it's not so easy nowadays to 'borrow' strips of it from school to play with at home 😀

Forget magnesium - what you want is a decent Thermit reaction ...

I remember trying "Thermit over Ice" once - the trick is not to overdo the amount of ice so that the heat causes the ice to melt very rapidly, generating quite a pressure wave.

The lab needed new windows anyway
