And we think Alpina parts are expensive

It sent a shiver up your spine as it left though

BMW M headed by engine expert Paul Rosche designed and built a 6.1 L (6,064 cc) 60-degree V12 engine called the BMW S70/2. At 627 PS (461 kW; 618 hp) and 266 kg (586 lb) the BMW engine ended up 14% more powerful and 16 kg (35 lb) heavier than Gordon Murray's original specifications, with the same block length. The engine uses a dry sump oil lubrication system. The carbon fibre body panels and monocoque required significant heat insulation in the engine compartment, so Murray's solution was to line the engine bay with a highly efficient heat-reflector: gold foil. Approximately 16 g (0.8 ounce) of gold was used in each car.

Something we have in common with Mclaren, a special BMW engine :D

Well it was a great turnout and the car park was completely full by 8.40 am Around 100 cars in total.

The staff at the Castle were very friendly and the event was well organised. With bucket loads of free coffee and fresh fruit juice for all. There were also ample plates full of free cakes and pastries. For those that wanted something a little more filling, there was a full English breakfast available at a very reasonable cost. Very nice.:P

It was good to see Kevin in his B10 3.3 and Brian in the B5 Touring, accompanied by his wife in the very bright red 360 prancing horse 8)

Brian drove the 360 home and pressed the "Loud" pedal as he left. Much to the delight of all the kids (older ones included) standing by the side of the road watching the cars leave :D

It was very misty first thing, but when the sun finally broke through it turned into a very nice autumnal morning.

Will post some pictures during the coming week.

Until this morning, was thinking of going, woke up to thick fog.
Did not clear until after lunch, didn't fancy a 140 mile round trip where I could not see anything :?
Do my travelling next weekend :D

Great meet this morning at The Castle. I arrived at 9.15am and was told "car park is full". Fortunately MCB had a few words and a space was found. :)

The pub car park was a great mix of old and new super cars featuring Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche, Aston Martin, Noble, Jaguar, Mercedes and 3 ALPINA's.

Let's hope we can get a few more ALPINA's at the next meet in April.

Your pictures are much better than my own Kevin. But then you were using a very posh camera :D

We both took similar shots. Will post what have tomorrow.

It was fairly foggy here first thing Brian. That was about 7. But it did lift fairly quickly, leaving a bright sunny day.

Well here are some pictures that I took. Hopefully they will compliment the pictures already uploaded by Kevin.

I drove the Alpina and my son drove the E30 M3. As can be seen in the first picture.

The only problem for anybody travelling any distance, is that you really need to be there by 8.am. Or you wont get a parking space.

Would be good to see a few more Alpina's there though.
