I think the only thing missing is that I would of expected there to be dark blue piping on the seats. Only because of the colour of the leather. It would of finished the interior of nicely.

:D

that would've topped it off very nicely indeed. I do like that interior though, even as is, and does look very well looked after. Love the blue too. If I run with it, Tuesday I am planning to view, I will ask to take some photo's and get them on here.

I hope the mileage is genuine too as that gives plenty of time before the expected issues. Only going to be doing max. 5k a year, so keeping it healthy and pristine.

Fingers and toes crossed that it's a winner!!!

Cheers,

From a company such as ASM I would expect nothing short of perfection.

I wish you all the best and hope you will become the new owner of what looks like a fine and well cared for car.

But as always, please follow the golden rule before parting with any cash. Get a cup of coffee from them and sit down with the service history and go through it thoroughly.

Hmmm! Well, went see B3S and, having rung yesterday to say would be viewing today, and called again this morning to confirm, I arrived..via London from Weston!

Walked in, mm, nice cars...Audi R8 Spyder, 911's, GTR's, salesman asks me to follow...through showroom to backlot. Some decent stuff there..M3...No sign of Alpina!!

Keep walking...shed at far corner of lot where some staff use it as a smoking room...chuck the fag ends out onto gravel of backlot..no bin!!!

And...there's the car..looking very sorry for itself covered in dust and other marks! Salesman has forgotten keys. "Do you want to see inside?" realizing car is locked. "Yes", thinking to myself JOKERS!!! Gets key..ah...can't start it as flat battery and clearly not moved in a decade or so!

I sit inside. Yes, very nice. Salesmans asks if I want to come back another time to have a look!! "Are you local?" "Err no, but I have come a long way!!" "If you come back, I'll have it ready"! Yes, I think, of course! During this conversation he has kept mentioning the M3. "Now, you definitely want the Alpina?" Err, not now, Ta!

Said I'd think about it and got out fast!!

Oh yeah, by the way, it's advertised at £10979 on ebay and Trader. Sticker in the window for £12999, which it was originally advertised at, probably when the showroom photo's were taken!!!! Obviously meant to capture the unwary who would walk in off the street not seeing the internet ads! Quite clearly far more interested in flogging the R8, 911's et al!

What a bunch of bozo's!!

Anyway, have decided I'm not going to travelling far to view anything and a rethink on what to look for(make and model)

Mr. Angry!!

Jon - that really sucks. Can't believe they didn't have it ready for you. Looked nice in the advert. Don't get too disheartened, some genuine motors available out there.

:(

Yeah, I know. Just zizzed at mo!! I want to pay a decent price for a good low miles cat that doesn't need anything really!! Rarity in that condition is likely, I know..but one can hope!

Will keep eyes peeled.

Thanks guys,

Jon

ps. I don't know that it was a lemon, Hap. Quite likely not..just it wasn't cleaned, battery charged, ready to go...that you expect from any dealer's. Unforgiveable really!

Well I am shocked to read of your experience with ASM. I would expect much better than that from a company of there standing. What makes things even worse is that they knew you were going to look at the car. I wonder when those picture were taken then!

I think if it was me I would not even sat in the car. I would of just turned round and walked out. It is clear they were not interested in selling the car. What a total disgrace.

I can feel a phone call coming on.........Watch this space

Did you get the name of the guy that dealt with you?

No sorry! Like yourself, I was so annoyed. Didn't even get what Alpina no. it is!! Sorry!

As I said, seemed like they wanted the M3 gone, rather than the Alpina!

The interior was very nice and the sills had no rust. It probably is a decent car, once matching the photo's advertised!!

Not like that now.

I've decided to bypass the red car, as it is a bit too bling..in your face!! Sure that's a good one!

Ok. Not to worry. I have just been reading there customer feed back section. But can see no way of adding anything. They probably wrote them all themselves.

Will let you know how I get on after talking with them.

I will most certainly not be recommending anybody else to them in the future. Very sorry that you had a wasted trip.

:)

No problem. It was a detour of 50 miles from my appointment in London so not a big issue. Would have been if I'd come up from Weston to find the same!!

My opinion is that it does NOT matter what a car is, or what it's selling for! It's business in this day and age! You can't be blasé about it! I am not!

I think the real issue is that when I rang them lunchtime from London, he didn't mention anything about it unable to be viewed properly and tested!! I had cash in hand for a deposit and enough Wonga to tell them to take it to PCS or Deutsch Tech for a PPI!

Didn't seem bothered that I walked!!!

Not good enough!
