I'm sure they come up as 325i sport/SE and as 2693cc...

it'll come up as the base car so 'most' had 2494 as the cylinder capacity (although I have seen one or two with the larger capacity shown but a latter owner could have registered the enlargement a few years down the line).

But this appears to be based on the sport so I reckon it'll show on the V5 as a 325i Sport (if sport IS written on there at all?).

For the record, they were based on any form of 325i so std, SE or sport.

Great find and well done for getting that out of harms way.

Your car seems to be coming up as a 2494cc making it a 2.5 and not a 2.7... The engine capacity is always changed except for the model variant

correct me if im wrong mate but your car seems a little different to all the other c2 2.7 alpina's out there, just seems like a 325i sport.. the engine capacity is no where near a 2.7

To be honest it does not seem right at all, yes i believe they all do not come with alpina kits, some mtec1 some mtec2, some 325i SE some SPORT, but they all should have the engine capacity of a 2.7 litre car, it cannot be a 2494cc and be a 2.7 alpina.. its either a c2 2.5 or its just a 325i sport...
The car you mentioned above, is very similar to yours but "F56 TNR" is coming up as a 325i se with a 2700cc engine yours is not

alpinabt ive did my homework before buying the car i have had quite a few conversions with a few e30 owners before taking the step to buy this car all the numbers add up when you mean something doest add up with the engine capability coming up with 2494cc simon13 has ownered 2 c2.7 alpinas both with 2494cc on the v5 and joeadams1979 on the e30zone page. also own another c2 2.7 with 2494cc on the v5 being such a old car documentation as you know is hard to find. the car is coming back as a c2 2.7 also all the numbers do match up a complete build treat will be uploaded regarding the car end of the week once we get it in the garage thanks once again for the advice

So what you are saying is your car is a 2.7 and is listed as a 2.5, which means when getting insurance the insurance providers will have the knowledge that your car is a 2.5 when its actually a 2.7.. I'm pretty sure that's going to make the insurance policy invalid? I'm quite sure when manufacturers built cars they put down the right engine capacity otherwise that would be against the law
If manufactures started putting down incorrect engine capacity ppl would have m3 engines in Micra's listed as a 1.1... It don't work like that, the model remains the same but the engine cc is changed on the logbook.
If you are referring to Simons alpina "f386edv" that's also down as a 2700cc like all the others.

I don't have it in for you at all  just saying what I think, sorry if it came out like I was against you  your from the Midlands? I'd love to see the car once its complete..

I'm just a little aware when it comes to these old alpina's, there's many people out there claiming there's are the proper ones when in fact they are just replicas. I know a few people in the midlands with e30 alpina's, most are fakes. But I only look at one detail to determine if its a genuine or copy, that's the engine capacity. Some people may go deeper and check the vin numbers.
