Thanks for confirmation about the dress code.

Just did the last bit of preparation with the B10 - a new set of wipers. I however hope these are not needed on Saturday or any other weather protection (meaning umbrellas for us), and that the meteorologist are their usual incorrect self, with their prediction of the weather forecast so that we all can enjoy

Slacks?? By which I presume you mean pressed non-chino trousers, typically worn with a counter colour blazer (formal fit), with white shirt and cravat or tie (optional)
:P

Don't make the mistake of wearing a tie with non-pressed trousers - unless you are in your early 20s and the tie is pencil thin (ideally woven wool) and matched to a similar colour, tight fitting shirt with a very wide tab cut collar.

Unless the jacket is tweed or a formal cut blazer don't go for double cuffs.

As for shoes - oxford or derby but ideally I would lean away from black (especially with tan/light colour slacks) and opt for a tan or burgandy - with matching leather where possible (belt, wallet and watch strap).

A navy linen suit with tan or brown shoes should be part of any gentleman's wardrobe and offers the best of both worlds - it can be formalised with a double cuff shirt and playful summer tie or allowed to be more casual with a wide choice of coloured shirts and with the top 2 (no more) buttons undone.

Always err on the side of caution and go slightly more formal - removing a tie can easily relax the look.

Please respect the timings on our invitation

Hi all

I've been asked to reiterate that the celebration (and therefore access to the factory / premise etc) is limited to Saturday afternoon, as per the invite - so please respect this and do not try to visit beforehand. ALPINA has a very busy schedule for most of the week and are not able to cope with additional visits + you wouldn't get their customary warm welcome etc.

Thanks

Neil

Totally fair enough. We are planning with military precision here.

Any ideas on a few bits:
Evening food buffet in a marquee or more formal sit down dinner?
Anyone know availability of taxis for leaving the event?
Are factory tours at fixed booked times or just roll up?

I understood it was a sit down dinner

Taxis - knowing Buchloe - I would say don't bank on them - or try to prebook one.

<- Given ALPINA's wine cellar it might be a good move !

No Idea on the logistic of the event beyond that I'm afraid

It is too early to say - if I drive and your hotel is nearby I am happy to be taxipina instead of Nealpina LOL; or to share a taxi if I decide to drink

Shirt decided upon for the event.

Nice green wool jacket over this and some tan coloured trousers. Boom!
