50 years of Alpina, activities

Post by Norrie » Fri Nov 28, 2014 11:16 pm

Just an update on potential plans for 50 year celebration of Alpina. We are hoping to have a presence at the Silverstone Classic which is the last weekend of July 15.

We are working alongside the BMWCCGB and a meeting will take place early in the new year with Goose (the organisers of the Classic), the BMWCC and also Matt Stripling from Sytner Alpina has agreed to be involved.

Initial response for a display of 50 Alpina (or more) through the ages and a potential parade lap have been positive from Goose.

It does not look as this will clash of cause any conflict of interest with any Alpina official celebrations in Germany, how I have no specific detail concerning that, but an in constant touch with Bernhard Kroenung from Alpina owners club Germany and will post regarding that when any information is confirmed.

Let's hope everything goes according to plan as this sounds great, especially the lap around the track.

I am meeting with Matt from Sytner on 8th December 2014 and we will have a discussion about what may be happening in 2015.

We will also discuss the Alpina position aligned to the BMW Car Club GB.

I will keep you all posted as to any developments.

Not sure how much there will be to discussed there given that ALPINA.de have always insisted that the brand is associated with the BMWCC - unless their position has changed recently.

The only confirmation I have had so far from ALPINA.de is that IF anything happens it will likely happen in JULY....

There will be celebrations in June, but please keep in mind that this is a private event of the company Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH&Co. KG - so this will be an invite-only-event.
Currently there are no details published - or communicated by Alpina. So please don't bother Alpina and wait for an official announcement.

Thanks, I am talking about Alpina celebrations in UK only, these (if any) will be arranged via the Sole Alpina importer since 1983 which is Sytner.

If we arrange anything, it clearly would not be any use if it clashes with anything arranged by Alpina in Germany. I suspect that whoever is or is not invited that the UK importer will be invited and therefore unable to attend or support and event in Uk at same time.

Therefore, to that extent nothing has been arranged thus far.
