Just renewed with Tesco on the Alpina Roadster S.
Same details as previous ... but we are both a year older.

The next best quote was £817.00 from Direct Line.

Very good!

My insurance renewal for my Alpina B10 3.3 1999 breaks down like this:
My age: 41
full NCB
location: Birmingham
fully comp for business and social domestic and pleasure
spouse insured too
mileage limited to 15k
garaged
Direct Line £793.80
+£136.50 protected No Claims.

That is almost the same as last year.
I shopped around and found nobody significantly cheaper: many of the big names didn't have the Alpina B10 as a car they knew, so you were into special arrangements (i.e.expensive)

Carole Nash forgot to protect my No Claims and wanted an extra £120 for the privilege.

Went back to Cheam and they came back to me with £1134 so they now have my business - Thanks to Greg Bridges at Cheam

This may seem like quite a lot of money compared with other postings in this thread, but please bear in mind that I use the car every day and cover over 30k miles a year. I guess the other problem is that because the car is so rare, the depreciation is low and so the "estimated value" at renewal time remains accordingly high. Nice problem to have to live with...

Just renewed: -

Car: 1999 B10 3.3
Age: 30
Location: Luton
4 Years no claims
The dear wife is insured as well, but she is years older than me so makes no difference.
direct through Privilege
Cost £1035

I tried Adrian Flux as I heard they were worth a try. They told me that until I had owned the car for a year (I've had it ten months) without smashing it up or killing myself they were not really able to compete.

I also spoke to a great many other people who insisted that my car was an import. One guy asked me if I was sure it had four doors rather than two!! He insisted that as the car did not appear in his list that I must be wrong or bending the truth to get a cheaper quote. (We need a smiley face that says 'tw*t')

Also spoke to a guy who was really pleased and enthusiastic to hear that I had an Alpina, but was sadly unable to quote as the car did not show in his lists.

Really pleased with Privilege. The closest model they had in their list was 1998 B10 3.2, but I spoke to them about it and they changed the details to show a 1999 3.3. Really pleased with them! :D

cheers
Newey
