You can but ask. If the stock has sat, then the dealer may think he can sell a slightly smaller car easier.

Failing that, you could always sell the B10 privately, and then go shopping for a B11/12

can I just throw a curve ball in and say that although Chas is correct in how European enthusiasts view Sytners cars, they were/are backed by Alpina and although they still bear the BMW chassis number are to many 'proper' Alpina's in all but build location. So I'd still view a Sytner car in the same vein as Buchloe built car here in the UK. In Europe it may be different.

Anyhow back to the B12's/B11 in question. It is genuine, it is one of the 6 swb cars converted by Sytners and all the numbers tally. Thankfully I have copies of the build records that Andy D obtained years ago and the e32's are all listed.

The one in the link above is also a genuine car, but the 4star classics looks a blinder, I love the interior (which makes a change from leather!) now if its worth the £12k I couldn't say, but until it gets sold then we'll never really know. Few become available to make a comparison in that condition.

Also I think 4star classics sell on commision basis for the customer so don't hold them as stock.

It is worth noting that Europe as a whole has an entirely different view on Alpinas than the UK. They are better understood over here - and used values are incredibly firm.

I know the FX means the prices seem very high to you guys, but check out what is available in Switzerland at the moment. I accept that most have been up for sale for a while - but there is a steady turnover. There are 2 Alpina Z8s for sale!
