Alpina Gemenischaft

Post by B10BRW » Thu Jul 13, 2006 7:58 pm

Decided to check out the Alpina Gemeinschaft meeting in the Harz Mountains on our way to Berlin.
The meeting was held from the 30th of June until the 2nd of July at a little village called Schierke deep in the Harz mountains amongst spectacular scenery.
We arrived on the the Friday afternoon to be greeted by a car park full of Alpina's, we were made most welcome as the only English car and visitors there.
We had not booked any accommodation but one of the members Mark
tried to help us out, but all rooms were booked.
Found a Hotel in the next town and after settling in went back to the meeting for a meal, there we met Andars (A G) and Stig who had just arrived from Sweden in Andars B7s Turbo.
The following morning various trips into the mountains were being organised, we opted for the short route of 60kms.
At the introduction, we had our own interpreters Alex (Berlin Thunder) and Stefan, then off we went.

Had to get back to the Hotel to see the England game (wish I hadn't bothered)
Then a Bar B Q had been organised on the Saturday evening.
All together a very nice Alpina gathering, and enjoyed meeting new people.

Took some pics, not many as the car park was rather crowded.

really wanted to get to this year's meet but work was against me as it's a very busy time at the mo.. hopefully i'll get to next years one (do you know yet where it's likely to be?)

How shiney is that Z8?

How do you get a car with that deep a shine?

Great collection. The dusty lilac one's a nice colour.

Thanks for the post and pics Brian.

Most of the cars that have a deep shine is down to the wax

i have used most all the best types and found out that the best for my car was the ZYMOL range

Start with
Wash Zymol Clear then with Zymol Lehm Klay & Zymol Lehm Lube then with Zymol HD-Cleanse then wax with one of the Zymol waxes

a bit cash to buy but well worth it it is far the best that i have used and the car now looks its just out of the showroom

best place to buy for price is on e bay

i bought a starter kit from www.vertar.com with the Zymol Destiny Glaze, Zymol Atlantique Glaze and Zymol Vintage Glaze in it

will have to save to try the Zymol Royale Glaze but that is my goal to wax the car with Zymol Royale Glaze @ aprox £ 7118.00 a jar

Dont think the wife will be to happy if i bought the wax as i spend to long on the car as it is

yes 66 RLE's originally last year we had 7 of them at the Gemeinschaft meeting (including ALPINA's own one...)
as for the E30. they're not as popular in Europe i've noticed both at last years meet and from looking at who owns what etc...

Thanks very much for the info. More money to spend! Yippee....

Zymol seems to get mentioned a lot, so I'll have a look and try to get some at some stage.

Will start another thread when I need more advice, rather than hijack this one.
