Looking for Recommendations - D5 BT Service Due

Post by m4rt1n » Wed Nov 21, 2018 12:12 pm

As I'm based in Newport, South Wales the obvious choice is Sytner Newport. I'm interested to know if anyone locally has used them or has gone elsewhere?

If you're keen on maintaining a BMW/Sytner service record than they will be fine I'm sure, but be prepared for a hefty bill. Otherwise consider an decent BMW specialist as the D5 needs no special work.

I've just had an oil/filters change done on my D5 at Sytner local to me and the price was a lot for what is basically an oil change.

Thanks Asim, I'm looking to ensure the car is maintained by a company who appreciate it and will look after it like I do. I had some feedback on Newport Sytner which did not fill me with confidence in this respect. Also I rang them and asked for a quote for the service and they have not come back to me.

I have now booked it in to Redish Automotive in Bristol after speaking to James Redish about servicing requirements and pricing. He was very professional and detailed the mandatory service items as well as the optional items all with individual costs. The oil service is a given and we will decide on air, fuel and pollen filters when we plug the key in on the day.

Excellent choice - I've heard only good things about Redish, they will certainly look after it like it's theirs.

Hope you are enjoying the D5? How's the ownership experience been so far?

Loving the D5, it's smooth, comfortable and economic on a motorway journey and quick and sporty when needed. :D
