Pictures now on the garage site above. The B10 looks great in Alpina Blue with silver decals, it's got me thinking how mine would look now . Not bad looking for a 20 year old car.

Very nice Jim, the E39 is still a very fine looking car.

Stripes - I've often thought about them on mine, and the only hesitation I have is of the piece on front part of the front wing, always looks odd to my eye the way it droops down and is a small stand alone piece. Do you see it too?

To my eyes those don’t look like a genuine deko kit. The stripes look to thick and the genuine ones seem to come to the flat part of the arches.

Phil, I have got to be honest that I have no idea if the stripes are genuine or not without looking at a few others first. I just think the silver works very well with the Alpina Blue colour and suits the car well.

I see what you mean Asim but it is not something that I have a problem with. The stripes across the boot lid always look a bit strange to me but of course they can be omitted.

I owned number 171, a blue saloon with a manual gearbox, from early 2012 until earlier on this year (sold it to a friend). Don’t quite regret selling it - the time had come - but I’d like another Alpina :)

I can confirm that B10 3.2 touring 005 is still up and running (just!).

Suffered cracked cylinder head at 206,000 miles which has just been repaired and engine in process of re-assembly. Bores in great condition!
