Could be looking at replacing the major components at least on our E36 and a ballpark number would be useful from BMW.
Hey Mate,

Approximately £1000 for the parts. I’ve been quoted £500/£600 for the installation.

I delivered the roof ledges and rear 1/4 windows to the body shop yesterday.

Just waiting on a appointment from them.

The ac is booked in for the week after next, then the detailers will take her for 2/3days.

Update

Post by Sab » Sun Sep 23, 2018 9:50 am

It’s been a hectic few weeks trying to juggle work and completing the B3.

The ac system is done and cool as ice!
I collected her from “Alpinair” last Saturday.
The name of the firm was just a coincidence - I swear by it!🙂.

Sam was brilliant and knows an ac system inside-out.
He had the car for 4 days for the installation.

I’ve replaced the mirror glass of the wing mirrors as the old ones where corroding (on the tint) around the edges of the glass

The car is now with the detailers who are storing the car until the rear 1/4 windows and roof ledges are replaced on Tuesday morning.
Following this, the detailing and PPF commences.

Detailing done.

Here are some pics of her when I collected her last week and some from today as I managed to take her for a drive.

I will take some better pics when I have more time.

She looks fantastic in any light and the detailing has enhanced the appearance to another level! Truly beautiful to look at.

Cheers Phil.

I thoroughly enjoyed the restoration of the B3 and may consider another project next year. Let wait and see. 🙂

Does look very nice and original.
A credit to you.
Have you ever thought about loosing the "fried egg" look with the indicators and fitting silvatec bulbs or reverting back to actual amber indicator lenses ?

“Fried egg” I like that and made me laugh 😂, I am inclined to agree with you. I haven’t ever thought about it and assumed they were done at factory as I didn’t see a receipt in the folder, and they are oe.

I’ll take a look at other b3’s with amber lenses. The contrast of the Amber against the Calypso Red body would look good in my opinion.

Thanks Ali for the feedback, always appreciated and welcomed.
