New Member - just bought D5 Biturbo Touring

Post by rblvjenkins » Thu Oct 12, 2017 11:01 am

Hi - just joined! Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place but I can't see a "New Members" section!

Anyway, just bought a 2012 D5 Biturbo Touring with just 44K miles. First impressions are excellent!

Any other Alpina users in or near Swansea?

Welcome! That's very stealthy, and looks like its had an easy life for the last few years! Enjoy :o)

Is this your first Alpina?

Yes it's my first Alpina. Had an F11 535D as my daily driver before. I've also got a Mercedes SLS and a Porsche 911 (997) Targa 4S.

I've always wanted an Alpina and couldn't resist this one when I saw it up for sale!

Seeing the comment above about badges, the only issue with the car I've just bought was the wheel badges. I think the previous owner may have used cheap car washes with sprayed on acid. I've done a quick fix using cheap ebay badges, and I've ordered originals which I'll fit when they arrive! I'll post the page with part numbers, but here's the "quick fix" for less than a tenner!!

For future reference, replacement badges from Pukar Designs are £30 for a set of four and are excellent quality

I like the wheels on your Targa. Mine was Seal Grey with Black wheels and silver lip. You've fine taste obviously.

Oh, and the SLS is pretty tasty too. Id never tire of opening those doors.
