MCB wrote:Thanks for all the very useful information Sab. I have spoken with Dan Soyka at Elite Direct and he has confirmed that he does not hold the settings for the E36 B3 3.2 in his database. Therefore I will be contacting Garry at Sytner to ask if he can provide a build sheet as you have mentioned. I will most certainly be asking him about the "Classic Alpina pack" Is the £80 for the pack or just the build sheet?

And yes I am sure you are already aware that I have been following the restoration of your very closely. I just love that car 8)
The Pack contained all of the docs I listed including the build sheet.
They are available from the Alpina website where you are required to complete a form and provide a copy of the V5. 🙂

Sprayed the centre caps earlier today.

How did you get a match on the paint so they look correct against the wheels?

By the way, I have been looking on the website for the Classic Alpina Pack that you mention and can only find this

Certificate of Delivery

http://www.alpina-automobiles.co.uk/en/ ... a-classic/

Do you happen to have the link to the one you have? Only I see no mention of a build sheet with the one I have found :?

I sourced the Polaris Silver by way of two cans of WURTH. It's a excact match and looks great. I also sprayed the lock caps which came out spot on as well.

The certificate of delivery is the Alpina Classic pack. They have renamed it since I made my order by the looks of it.

All the docs are listed on the page, and same as what I received.

"The Certificate of Delivery includes the following information:

- ALPINA Model Designation
- BMW Series Designation
- ALPINA Vehicle Identification Number
- ALPINA Production Number
- BMW Vehicle Identification Number
- Engine Number
- Production Month

The following documentation is included in the form of copies of the original vehicle file:
- Excerpt of the original vehicle invoice
- Technical data sheet"

Go on order it!

What does the "excerpt" of the build sheet include the exactly? Full Alpina build options spec etc or is it rather abbreviated?

When they use the term "excerpt" you would assume that is all you get is a snippet only.

I received the full technical build sheet detailed on 5 A4 size pages listing all the components used to build the car.

Every sub category was listed with no abbreviating.

On the copy of the original invoice you have all the options as you would when you purchase the car from new. Alpina omit the original owners details and the price for data protection but other than that it's the complete invoice.

The certificate of delivery is also a special document with the logo embossed in Silver. It states your vehicle, chassis no and build no saying this is the car that Alpina delivered to the UK.

I communicated regularly with Larissa Greiner at Alpina who was very helpful and likely to be the person who processes any orders.

Her email is L.Greiner@Alpina.de

Thanks for the paint information. I fancy having a go at painting the center caps on ours.

I have just downloaded the application form for the Certificate of Delivery Pack. I will fill it in next week and get it sent off. Thanks for all the info that you provided. Much appreciated :D

RE tracking in the e46 handbook its all in there. The e46 alpinas runs almost 100% identical settings to a 330i sport from factory certainly in tourings. I've taken the book with me on ours and compared it with the settings on their system at my local place who luckily are on the ball and not the normal retards

Bearing in mind all that can be adjusted on the front is the tracking so toe in and out. On the rear its the same

Agreed, it completes the document folder as well.
I do not intend on ever selling her and felt obtaining her "birth certificate" was the right thing to do.
