B3 Biturbo (saloon) Parts Spec Questions!

Post by wadsy » Tue Nov 10, 2015 6:47 pm

I've read this article...

http://www.thealpinaregister.com/newsst ... 825&type=9

...which states that the saloon has the springs from a 335i 'sport' and the dampers are 'standard'...could someone confirm this for me please?

Also, can anyone tell me please what brake and hub set-up is used?...ie. are the hubs, calipers and discs and pads the same as on the 335i?

Many thanks :)

They use parts from other BMWs where they're the best fit for the job or where budget constrains them.

Best thing to do is probably ask a dealer to look up the part numbers for you if you're in any doubt, they all have access to the Alpina parts catalogue.

I know the B3 BiTurbo has the same brakes set up - discs, pads and calipers as the 335i it is based on as I've replaced both sets now.

All Alpina parts here:

http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/filea ... iturbo.pdf

Springs are from M Sports suspension, combined with 'normal' dampers..

Cheers,

don't want to complicate this- and i know Alpina have a history of using "standard" dampers with sports springs, BUT- aren't all 335i's supplied with sports suspension whether they are SE or Sport models? I could be wrong, and it wouldn't make a lot of sense here, but I'm sure I've read this.

Has anyone saved this link for the B3 Biturbo parts catalogue?

As it is not an old model, the Alpina link doesn't work anymore...

Kind regards,

It's correct for the coupe. Saloon and touring were standard damper with Msport springs. I'm sure having the parts brochure uploaded will help people a lot!
