All,

I quite like this car, the exterior colour is really nice, but the interior doesn't seem special enough. Kerr's car is a nicer package with techno violet paint and white leather.

What questions should I ask both sellers? What are the common faults or areas of caution. I guess at this age rust and rot could be an issue?

Arches bootlid area common rust
Service history paperwork running in service
Centre cap keys and just general observations on tyre quality/brand, body condition etc you can pick up a lot on how well a car has been looked after
Also grey one is face lift and newer

Both lovely I recall the techno one for sale previously depends if u want to be discret or shouty about it

Thanks Hap. I would love the steel grey car with the techno violet interior.
The facelift is making me feel like I am getting a newer car.

I spoke to the owner today.

The car sounds nice enough - however, rust bubbles on the rear arches, described as double the size of a £2 coin on each side.

My bodywork guy suggested that it could be made good for £500, but used an industry phrase. "If you can see rust, there is more underneath and behind what you can see".

I had a 911 once, what started with two new wings, turned out to be £5k of bodywork.
