Sytner 2017 - the numbers are in

Post by v8 ego » Sun Apr 30, 2017 10:55 pm

Evening all.

I have just finished counting up the cars from today. I got photos of everything except one Roadster S that was parked outside the gates near the Mini dealership (If anyone has any details/pics please drop me a line).

I will post picture in due course but the following attended:

82 visiting Alpinas
19 vehicles in Alpina stock
4 customer cars

The total was 105 Alpinas on site.
Regards,

James

Checked mine during the drive along with their temps, the run to Belvoir castle saw the front tyre temps hit 30 degrees, the rears stayed a steady 22 degrees.
Nothing to see here.... move along in an orderly fashion please!

Blimey Kevin you don't want much do you :D :D

Most miles driven to event? (Chas? ChrisLux?)

I will leave for Neil to answer

Least miles driven to event?

I will leave for Neil to answer

Most common model present?

E90 D3 (614 produced)

Rarest model present?

Yours  E34 B10 4.6 Touring, 1 of 19 produced, then the E36 B8 Touring (27 produced)

Oldest car present?

E30 C1 2.3 (1st November 1984)

Newest car (unsold Sytner cars excepted) present?

Newest registered and newest production date: F25 XD3 BT X3 PDN (registered 7th December 2016, built 20th August 2016)

Smallest engine present?

E90 D3 - 1995 cc

Largest engine present?

B10 V8S - 4837cc

And although I was busy off nosing at the truly amazing BMW M760Li in the showroom could someone let us all know who won any prizes such as quiz? show'n'shiny' ? best new car? best older car?

All down to Neil

In all seriousness though, thank you so much for bothering to take down some numbers; it gives Alpina enthusiasts and I suspect Alpina themselves some food for thought as to how things have gone over the years.

No worries, oddly I enjoy it.

I personally thought there was the widest spread of cars there had been for some years but on reflection the older cars were rather absent as there were some notable exceptions; for example, no

E21
E23
E24
E28
E31
E32
E38  (you only had to ask :D)

Perhaps the older cars have moved into the hands of 'collectors' rather than 'enthusiasts' and as such the cars have become destined to become ornaments and museum pieces rather than Herr Bovensiepens vision of 'Fine automobiles for the Connoisseur'.

Or perhaps, in the case of the seven series cars, simply neglected

Thank you again for the amazing and attentive clipboardery but if you could get around to finalising the finer details I have requested I would be most grateful  :D

You're most welcome.
Regards,

James
