Note:- If you have purchased a ticket for the Sunday and have a BMWCCGB display parking pass then you can still participate in the parade lap, any problems pm me, before next Thursday.

If you have not got a car parking display pass you cannot join the parade lap even if you have event tickets, you will be in the public car park and not admitted into the circuit or on the track.

I apologise to labour this point. If you have not already got a ticket and a display pass for Sunday 31 July 16, then you cannot be part of the parade lap or enter the circuit.

If you have a display pass for another car club other than BMW or any other team or facility you still cannot be part of the parade lap.

Goose the organiser cut off the date for tickets, they cannot be purchased on the day. They cut off the date for car club passes. Do not call Silverstone they cannot help, don't not call Goose they will not help, don't call the BMW Car club it's too late.

Sorry these are the facts.

Norrie is correct.

Goose are useless and that's the nicest thing I've got to say about them.

Hope the weekend goes well for all attending!

Despite what looked to be a poor location for the parking of Alpina at Silverstone, it turned out in my view to be one the best I have attended.

The parade lap, turned out to be a drive as fast as you can and it was great to see the B3 GT3 owned by Nick Jones giving it plenty on the track. This car is actually for sale FJ 14 FCA at present. I think a few in the "M" cars were surprised, a guy got out of an E36 M3 and said to me "mate what the hell is that you are driving?"

You never know some may come over from the dark side. It strayed dry and was well worth attending.

Did Sytner attend? If so, I seem to have missed them.? Given BMW was celebrating 100 years I though they might have done something? They had a great display a few years ago (when they sponsored the ferris wheel) but since then seem to have done less and less at Silverstone. Perhaps they feel all the potential buyers go to FOS? The Porsche Drivers Club display was amazing and they seemed to have filled about 50% of the central area by themselves. Given the number of BMWs on the road compared to Porsches we were quite modest in numbers.

I felt this was one of the best Silverstone Classic events I have attended, lots of different places selling food, places to sit, clean toilets and amazing racing. FOS better watch out...

BMW no longer have a partnership with Silverstone. That is now with Goodwood. Sytner did attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed and had three cars on display including the new B7. This costs in the tens of thousands, plus staff travel and accommodation costs.
The demographics are that over 75% of Alpina customers are from Oxford or further South.

In terms of support for Silverstone, the dates were changed and therefore this clashed with Car Fest North, which is why Simon & Tracey were not able to attend. There was no organised Alpina presence from the club perspective as such. Sytner did collect the B3 GT3 car from Derby and arrange for it to be there, the owner took it on the track. There was no other attendance, the B4 & D4 bi turbos I believe are still with the press and so were unavailable.

Despite all this we did have a fair number of Alpina cars and I think everyone still enjoyed the event?. I did, it was dry. The parade lap was awesome.

Porsche club is 4 times bigger that BMWCC in terms of numbers, they have 16,000.
